As a Legal Entity Controller - Associate in our team, you will be responsible for the financial oversight of legal entities, ensuring compliance with both US GAAP and Japan GAAP. You will collaborate with various teams to support local regulatory reporting and monthly closing processes, directly impacting the firm's financials and regulatory reporting.
Job Responsibilities:
- Approve accounting entries
- Ensure the overall integrity of financial statements under US GAAP and Japan GAAP
- Prepare local regulatory reports
- Support ad hoc queries and requests from management, auditors, or regulators
- Coordinate with teams such as Product Controllers, Financial Controllers, Business Managers, and Operations
- Track assigned business results for booking accuracy
- Analyze revenue under Management accounting
- Monitor currency hedge processes
- Support new business initiatives
- Seek better control procedures through cost/benefit analysis
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Minimum of 4 years of accounting and/or finance experience
- Native level Japanese and basic level English
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Understanding of financial products such as shorting, margin trade, security borrowing/lending, options, swaps, forwards, and futures
- GAAP knowledge (Japan GAAP and/or US GAAP)
- Regulatory reporting knowledge
- J-CPA, CFA, and/or FRM holders are a plus
