About the Role

We are on the lookout for a Legal Officer who will work closely with our Chief Compliance Officer and collaborate with team members across various departments. This role involves offering legal support to all teams and ensuring our company remains compliant as a licensed financial services provider.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice for company's operations, including the review, preparation and amendment of relevant legal documentation
  • Contract Management: Review and manage contracts with third parties to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Monitor contract execution to ensure adherence to terms and conditions.
  • Analyze changes in financial regulations and corporate laws, advising management on their potential impact on the company’s operations
  • Work closely with the Chief Compliance Officer to address regulatory inquiries and ensure timely submission of regulatory reports.
  • Provide legal support for licensing applications, renewals, and other interactions with financial regulatory bodies.
  • Act as the key point of contact for legal matters across departments, including Sales, Marketing, Back Office, and Human Resources.
  • Liaise with external legal counsel, regulators, and other stakeholders to obtain and provide information relevant to the company’s operations.

Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related field is required, with an advanced degree being a plus.
  • A solid background in financial services or legal practice is crucial.
  • Expertise in Corporations law and financial regulations is a must.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication, drafting, and report-writing abilities are essential.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across various teams are important.
  • Must be organized, attentive to details, and capable of juggling multiple priorities.
