About The Role

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will act as a key pillar of the core finance team, ensuring immaculate financial hygiene and robust compliance across all entities. This is a dynamic, all-rounder role designed for a highly motivated professional who is recently CA-qualified or nearing completion.


This role offers a unique balance of autonomy and strong mentorship. The Financial Controller is deeply invested in the success of this position, offering a highly supportive environment with extensive guidance to help you grow into a true finance leader. Furthermore, day-to-day transactional processes - such as manual invoice processing - are managed by your direct report, allowing this role to focus on higher-level compliance, ledger architecture, and advisory support.


What You'll Own

  • Manage the end-to-end preparation, review, and compliance of Business Activity Statements (BAS) and corporate tax obligations, ensuring readiness for final sign-off.
  • Manage compliance framework requirements for payroll tax, superannuation, and WorkCover across relevant jurisdictions.
  • Oversee payroll integrity and triage internal enquiries, working alongside HR frameworks.
  • Assist the Financial Controller with key statutory initiatives, including coordinating key inputs for the R&D tax incentive claim and act as a primary point of contact for external audits.
  • Maintain cleanliness and integrity of the General Ledger, managing intercompany loans, multi-currency adjustments, and month-end hygiene.
  • Directly support our NZ and UK regions, acting as their go-to finance partner for regional compliance and strategic needs.
  • Assist the Financial Controller with rolling cash flow forecasting and the preparation of monthly management reporting packs.
  • Actively collaborate with the Financial Controller to design, build, and implement robust financial architecture.
  • Continuously refine internal accounting policies, controls, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).


What You’ll Need


Key Skills & Technological Capability:

  • Willingness to Learn: A proactive curiosity and a desire to continuously expand your technical and commercial finance skill set.
  • Attention to Detail: Absolute precision when reviewing ledgers, intercompany balances, and statutory submissions.
  • Technologically Adept: Highly comfortable navigating and optimising modern digital systems. You should possess strong proficiency in:
    • Excel and Xero.
    • AI tools and workflow automation platforms.
    • A natural aptitude for quickly learning and adopting new software platforms as the business scales.
    • Specialised finance ecosystem tools (e.g., Syft, Rippling) (Not essential but preferred)


Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Qualifications: CA/CPA qualified, or in the final stages of completion.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in an accounting environment, corporate finance team, or mid-tier/Big 4 chartered firm.
  • Location: Fully remote, however preferably located within Brisbane or Melbourne to ensure alignment with team hubs.
