About the role:

We are seeking an experienced Manager to join our Business Advisory team in Sydney. This is a key leadership role where you’ll partner closely with clients, provide strategic and commercial advice, and play an active role in developing and mentoring high‑performing teams.

You’ll work across a diverse client portfolio, delivering high‑quality accounting, tax, and advisory services while contributing to the growth and success of both your clients and the wider firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review work papers and ensure appropriate documentation and evidence is maintained

  • Apply a deep understanding of clients’ industries, business environments, and market positioning

  • Take a long‑term, strategic view of client needs, identifying risks, opportunities, and value‑adding solutions

  • Provide practical, commercial advice that genuinely enhances clients’ businesses

  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with current accounting and legal standards

  • Analyse management accounting reports and provide clear, actionable insights to clients

  • Design, develop, and analyse financial models

  • Identify, research, and resolve complex accounting and technical issues

  • Review income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships, and superannuation funds

  • Deliver complex tax planning strategies for clients

  • Manage team workflow, delegate effectively, and communicate regularly with Partners

  • Review and develop the work of junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices

  • Build and maintain strong, trusted client relationships

    About you:

    You’re a confident, commercially minded professional who enjoys leading people and working closely with clients. You’re technically strong, proactive in your approach, and committed to continuous learning and development.

    Essential:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Commerce with an Accounting major
    • CA qualification (or equivalent)
    • 5–7 years’ experience in professional services
    • Proven experience managing and developing teams
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
    • High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities
    • Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with others
    • Commitment to ongoing professional development

    Desirable:

    • Exposure to business development and client growth initiatives
