About the Role
This role will work as part of an engagement team to deliver technology advisory work for clients, with a focus on IT strategy. You’ll help organisations understand their current technology environment, define where they need to get to and plan how to get there. You’ll also contribute to data and AI advisory work.
This is a delivery role with the key responsibilities outlined below:
IT Strategy and Advisory
- Support current-state assessments of clients’ technology environments, including application and infrastructure landscapes, operating models, capability and spend.
- Conduct stakeholder interviews and workshops to understand business drivers, pain points and priorities.
- Contribute to the development of future-state visions, target operating models and guiding principles.
- Support gap analysis and the definition of initiatives needed to move from current to future state.
- Contribute to IT strategies, roadmaps and business cases, drafting sections and preparing supporting analysis.
Technology Assessment and Selection
- Assess the fitness of existing systems and architecture against business needs, and identify risks, gaps and opportunities.
- Support technology market scans, requirements definition and platform evaluations, including preparing evaluation criteria and comparison analysis.
- Contribute to target-state architecture designs at a conceptual and logical level.
- Apply the firm’s frameworks, methods and reference architectures, and contribute improvements based on what works in practice.
Data Strategy and Governance
- Support data maturity assessments by gathering evidence, applying assessment criteria and drafting findings.
- Contribute to data strategies and roadmaps that align with the client’s broader IT strategy.
- Support the design of data governance frameworks, including policies, standards, roles and stewardship models.
- Research privacy, sovereignty and regulatory considerations, and raise matters requiring specialist input.
AI Advisory and Governance
- Support use case identification and prioritisation by assessing business value, data readiness and feasibility.
- Contribute to AI readiness assessments and adoption roadmaps.
- Draft components of AI governance frameworks covering risk, human oversight, transparency and acceptable use.
- Keep across emerging technology and AI trends, and share insights with the team.
About You
Our ideal candidate has around five years’ experience in technology or digital consulting, or in an IT strategy, planning or advisory role. You’ll have a solid understanding of how technology supports business outcomes and how organisations plan and govern their technology investment.
Combined with:
- Tertiary qualification in information technology, business, engineering, commerce or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience contributing to IT strategies, current and future-state assessments, roadmaps or business cases.
- Experience delivering workstreams within a broader engagement and supporting junior team members.
- Experience working across multiple industries, or a demonstrated ability to move quickly between unfamiliar sectors.
- Working knowledge of enterprise technology landscapes, including ERP, HCM, CRM, integration platforms, cloud and data platforms.
- Strong analytical, writing and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to turn findings into clear, practical recommendations.
- Desirable: experience contributing to data strategy or data governance work, and an interest in AI strategy and governance.
