 About the Team

The Financial Planning and Analysis team, sitting within the Chief Finance Office at hummgroup, plays a key role in delivering financial and strategic insights across the organisation. We are a relatively flat organisational structure, and as a member of the team you are accountable for end-to-end responsibility for your area of focus and will need to be flexible and able to take on additional and/or different accountabilities as required.

About the Role

The purpose of this role is to provide flexible, hands-on support across FP&A, including management and external reporting, forecasting, planning and analysis. The role will provide backup coverage across the income and expense workstreams, with a particular focus on financial modelling, system reporting and ensuring outputs are accurate, complete and fit for decision-making. The role will also support investor relations and external market reporting. Working with external system specialists where required, the role will retain internal ownership of business requirements, testing, reconciliations and output quality.

This position offers broad exposure across the income and expense sides of FP&A and is suited to a finance professional who combines strong modelling capability with systems awareness and disciplined attention to detail. The successful candidate will be comfortable investigating data issues, validating system outputs, coordinating with external technical specialists and translating financial information into clear analysis for senior stakeholders.

Planning, Forecasting & Modelling

  • Support forecasting cycles, the annual budget and strategic planning across both income and expenses.
  • Build, maintain and enhance robust driver-based financial models, with clear assumptions, sensitivities, documentation and quality controls.
  • Support management reporting by validating financial data and ensuring outputs reconcile to source systems and reported results.

Management Reporting & Systems

  • Provide flexible backup and analytical support to the FP&A team.
  • Support month-end management reporting across Group and lines of business, including investigation of variances, reconciliations and timely resolution of data issues.
  • Maintain and improve system reporting outputs (i.e., TM1) by defining business requirements, coordinating changes with internal stakeholders and external specialists, performing user acceptance testing and validating outputs before release.
  • Apply strong attention to detail to ensure system (i.e., TM1) outputs are complete, accurate, reconciled and suitable for management reporting and decision support.

Business Partnering & Decision Support

  • Develop a sound understanding of income and expense drivers and translate them into clear financial analysis and decision-ready insights.
  • Prepare financial models for forecasts, business cases, strategic initiatives and scenario analysis, supporting both FP&A portfolio leads as priorities require.
  • Partner with Financial Control, technology teams and external TM1 specialists to resolve reporting issues and strengthen data quality, controls and process sustainability.

Investor Relations & External Reporting

  • Support quarterly, half-year and full-year market updates by preparing and validating financial analysis, commentary and supporting materials.
  • Draft and coordinate investor relations papers, results presentations and other external reporting materials, ensuring messages are clear, accurate and consistent with reported financial results.
  • Support the external reporting of segment results to the market, including validating segment data, reconciling outputs and coordinating inputs across FP&A and Financial Control.
