We’re seeking a highly experienced professional to join the Business Risk Oversight team as Manager, Operational Risk and Resilience. This is a key Line 2 role supporting the uplift of the Bank’s operational risk and resilience practices.

You’ll work closely with departments across the Bank to strengthen operational risk ownership, provide independent oversight, and contribute to the development of frameworks and tools that support continuity of operations and effective third-party risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of the Bank’s operational risk and resilience frameworks.

  • Provide Line 2 oversight of operational risk controls, including business continuity, incident response, and third-party risk.

  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of operational risk and resilience practices across departments.

  • Collaborate with Line 1 stakeholders to embed operational risk management and ensure accountability.

  • Contribute to the delivery of training and awareness programs to build capability across the Bank.

  • Prepare clear, insightful reports and recommendations aligned with the Bank’s risk appetite and strategic objectives.

Experience

  • Proven experience influencing department leaders to invest in and lead the maturing of operational risk and resilience practices.

  • Demonstrable ability to develop strategic and trusted relationships fundamental to the provision of insight, review, and challenge.

  • Demonstrated experience as a subject matter expert in operational risk and resilience, supporting the learning and development of business stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to drive innovation in Line 2 processes and tools, leveraging the latest industry trends and technologies.

  • Strong understanding of business continuity planning, third-party risk, and operational disruption scenarios.

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and written and verbal communication skills.

About You

  • Approximately 10 years’ experience in operational risk and resilience, ideally within financial services or a regulatory environment.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in risk, finance, economics, compliance, or a related discipline.

Your Team

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Operational Risk and Resilience within the Risk Management and Compliance team (Line 2) you will play a lead role in establishing effective line 2 review, challenge and insight across one of the Bank’s material risk classes.

The establishment of strategic and trusted relationships across the Bank is fundamental to the Team’s success.  The Risk Management and Compliance team supports the consistent and effective application of the Bank's framework for managing risk and compliance obligations, both at the enterprise level and for individual business units across the Bank.  It also advises on and implements the risk management framework governing the Bank’s operations in financial markets.
