Your New Role

Are you a security professional who thrives on building trusted relationships, navigating complex risks and providing strategic advice to senior stakeholders?

As Manager – Physical Security & Intelligence, you'll play a key leadership role within AustralianSuper's Information & Physical Security function, helping protect our people, assets, operations and reputation through the delivery of physical security and intelligence capabilities across the Fund's global operations.

This role combines security risk management, threat intelligence, stakeholder engagement and operational oversight. You'll work closely with senior leaders, risk owners, vendors and global stakeholders to assess emerging risks, deliver intelligence-led insights and ensure effective security controls are in place across domestic and international locations.

While not currently a people leadership position, this role offers significant leadership responsibility and influence. You'll help shape the ongoing maturity of the function, provide guidance across critical security activities and act as a trusted advisor on physical security, geopolitical risk and intelligence matters.

The role would suit someone from a Physical Security, Security Intelligence or Security Risk background who enjoys stakeholder engagement, influencing outcomes and partnering with senior leaders. Strong communication skills, energy and the ability to build trusted relationships will be critical to success.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the day-to-day delivery of physical security and security intelligence activities across AustralianSuper's global operations.
  • Monitor emerging threats and risks, producing intelligence briefings, risk assessments and recommendations for stakeholders and senior leaders.
  • Oversee travel risk, incident support, security monitoring and threat management activities across domestic and international locations.
  • Partner with business leaders, vendors and external stakeholders to deliver effective security outcomes.
  • Support executive activities, higher-risk events and other security-related programs.
  • Drive continuous improvement across security processes, reporting, governance and operational controls.
  • Provide clear, practical and risk-based advice that supports informed decision-making and effective escalation of security risks.

What You'll Need

  • Experience in Physical Security, Security Intelligence, Security Risk Management or related security disciplines within a large and complex organisation.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior leaders and executives.
  • Experience analysing security risks, threats and vulnerabilities and translating insights into practical business recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and workstreams in dynamic environments.
  • Strong judgement with the ability to determine when to escalate, influence or drive action to reduce risk.
  • Experience supporting security incidents, threat management, travel risk or protective security activities.
  • Strong written communication skills, including preparation of risk assessments, executive briefings and intelligence reports.
  • A proactive, energetic and collaborative approach, with a desire to contribute to the ongoing maturity of a growing security function, and experience, or a desire to take on leadership responsibilities.

Highly regarded:

  • Experience working across international operations and global security risk environments.
  • Understanding of geopolitical, travel risk, insider threat and emerging threat landscapes.
  • Experience implementing security frameworks, governance practices and operational improvements.
  • Qualifications in Security, Risk Management, Intelligence, Emergency Management, Criminology or related disciplines.
