Job Description

Now, about this opportunity…

We're looking for a Manager, Portfolio Credit Risk to play a key role in strengthening Judo's credit risk management framework and supporting the continued growth of our portfolio.

Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Credit Risk, you'll lead critical portfolio risk analytics, expected credit loss (ECL) assessment activities and provision stress testing, helping ensure our credit risk methodologies remain robust, fit-for-purpose and aligned to evolving business needs. You'll work closely with teams across Risk, Finance, Investor Relations and senior business stakeholders, delivering insights that support informed decision-making and strong risk outcomes.

This is an opportunity to combine technical expertise, strategic thinking and stakeholder influence in a role that directly contributes to Judo's long-term success.

If that excites you, this just might be your dream job:

  • Lead the ongoing enhancement and governance of Judo's IFRS 9 / AASB 9 Expected Credit Loss (ECL) methodology and provisioning framework.
  • Oversee portfolio credit risk analytics, provision assessments and stress testing activities, delivering meaningful insights to support executive decision-making.
  • Assess provision adequacy and emerging portfolio risks, providing constructive challenge and independent risk perspectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement of credit risk models, methodologies, reporting and governance frameworks.
  • Partner with Finance, Investor Relations and Risk teams to support internal and external reporting requirements, including regulatory obligations.
  • Present analysis and recommendations to senior management, risk committees and executive stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to automate, streamline and enhance risk reporting, analytics and processes.
  • Support the development of portfolio risk capabilities across the broader Credit Risk function.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment focused on learning, development and continuous improvement.
  • Role model Judo's values and contribute positively to our culture.

Qualifications

You’ll likely bring:

  • Demonstrated experience within portfolio credit risk, credit analytics, provisioning, impairment modelling or broader risk management disciplines.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS 9 / AASB 9 Expected Credit Loss frameworks and credit provisioning methodologies.
  • Experience analysing portfolio performance, impairment trends, credit risk drivers and stress testing outcomes.
  • Advanced analytical capability, with experience using tools such as SQL, Python, R, Power BI and/or Snowflake.
  • The ability to translate complex data and technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for a range of audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage, influence and provide constructive challenge at senior levels.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and a track record of driving change and enhancing existing processes.
  • Confidence making decisions and owning outcomes.
  • A collaborative, relationship-led approach to your work.
  • Curiosity, adaptability and a desire to keep learning.
  • A passion for supporting Australian SMEs and helping build a world-class business bank.

If you don’t meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply – your experience, mindset and potential matter to us.
