About the role and team 

Want to help define what’s next for Uber in Australia and New Zealand?
As a Public Policy Manager at Uber, you will help influence the policy and regulatory environment across our mobility and delivery businesses. You will develop and execute strategies on priority issues, build trusted relationships with government and external stakeholders, and advocate for practical reforms that support Uber’s products, earners and customers.

The environment is fast-paced and requires you to execute on high-priority initiatives thoughtfully and creatively. You will contribute to decisions that matter, working closely with teams across Legal, Communications and Marketing to turn ambitious ideas into meaningful outcomes. This role is for a strategic, curious and action-oriented problem solver who brings clarity, builds momentum and is excited by the opportunity to influence the future of mobility and delivery in Australia and New Zealand.

What you’ll do 

  • Help shape the policy environment that will define the future of mobility and delivery. Drive policy changes that support Uber’s growth and deliver better outcomes for earners, customers and communities.
  • Shape Uber’s policy positions on key legislative issues across mobility and delivery.
  • Represent Uber with governments, regulators and industry groups. Participate in government consultations, inquiries and regulatory processes, and shape Uber’s position in them.
  • Advise senior leaders on political and regulatory issues that could affect the business.
  • Work closely with Legal, Communications, Marketing and Operations to align policy work with business priorities. Spot emerging policy risks and opportunities and help the business respond early.
     

What you'll need

  • 7+ years of experience in public policy, politics or government affairs. We will also consider candidates from related backgrounds, including legal or public affairs roles with strong policy exposure.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple policy initiatives at once with sound judgement, creativity and a strong focus on outcomes.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trust across diverse internal and external groups.
  • Values-aligned traits including strong judgement, resilience, curiosity and the ability to thrive in a fast-changing environment.
  • Strong storytelling and presentation skills. Policy campaigning skills (preferred but not essential).
