About this role
This role will work within the National Assurance Quality team, which forms part of the Audit & Assurance team, and can be based Sydney or Melbourne. At Grant Thornton Australia, our audit process is more than a compliance measure. At the heart of our approach is the belief that our robust, independent audits deliver actionable insights and add substantial value for our clients. We work with ASX-listed companies, NASDAQ listed entities, privately owned businesses and Not for Profits and take the time to understand the organisation, including its profit drivers and key risks.
Key responsibilities
- Be responsible for all of the firms US audit methodology and US GAAP financial reporting queries
- Identify and report on client financial risks with regard to external financial reporting requirements
- Research technical issues and application of issues to clients circumstances
- Support the NAQ team with training where required
- Be the main point of contact for the audit field work and teams for PCAOB engagements
- Perform independent statutory audit of the financial reports of a wide variety of entities
Skills & experience
- Considerable experience in Audit & Assurance with solid knowledge of US GAAP, USGAAS and PCOAB auditing standards as well as AICPA, SEC and PCAOB independence requirements
- Exposure to US SEC clients, including audit of internal control over financial reporting
- CA or CPA Qualification or other relevant overseas qualification
- Excellent client relationship skills
