About this opportunity
As a Manager, Software Engineering within the Web Development group, you will be responsible for leading the execution of complex backend and frontend features using modern edge technologies. This role requires strong technical leadership, the ability to work with cross‑functional teams, and the capability to drive delivery in a dynamic environment.


Role expectations

 In this role, you will…
  • Innovate and contribute to the design of robust, scalable, and flexible web solutions for Align Web and Scanner products, using modern technologies such as Angular and React.
  • Lead a high-performing team of full‑stack developers, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of cutting‑edge applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate features across different disciplines and functional areas.
  • Mentor and guide your team by managing their career development, providing both technical and motivational support.
  • Design, develop, and deliver high‑quality web applications for the digital dentistry ecosystem.
  • Promote a culture of engineering excellence by teaching, learning, recommending, and implementing standardized, high‑quality code practices.
  • Operate autonomously—proactively suggesting improvements, initiating activities, and contributing to system and product enhancements.
  • Participate actively in the hiring process to evaluate and select strong engineering talent.


What we're looking for
 
 In this role, you’ll need … 
  • 10+ years of software development experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Software Engineering Manager, with proven people‑leadership skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with .NET Core, .NET, and ASP.NET MVC.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern web technologies.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps-oriented workflows.
  • Proven experience with at least one modern web framework/library: Angular, React, or Vue.js.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Ability to manage and influence highly skilled, senior technical engineers.
  • Strong capability in planning and structuring complex software development activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and monitor teams to meet commitments.
  • Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, organized, and able to work independently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
