Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily operations of the underwriting team, ensuring timely and accurate service delivery to distributors.

  • Conduct risk assessments up to the specified authorization limit to ensure accurate and fair underwriting decisions.

  • Ensure all new business tasks comply with the Company's New Business Policy & Procedures, Underwriting Guidelines, Rule Book, and service pledge to maintain high standards of quality.

  • Provide second-level approval for referred applications from Underwriters and contribute to the establishment of service pledges and performance indicators.

  • Support agents’ enquiries and deliver underwriting workshops to the MCV agency to enhance their knowledge and efficiency.

  • Maintain strong relationships with distributors to facilitate ease of doing business and ensure their needs are met.

  • Identify and execute process streamlining and service improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Ad-hoc Assignments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, insurance or related discipline.

  • 8-10 years of experience in underwriting, including 3-4 years in a supervisory role.

  • Proficient expertise in MCV business.

  • Proven experience in coaching and developing subordinates.

  • Extensive underwriting training experience.

  • Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) or ALU is preferred.
