The Managing Director, Australia & New Zealand effectively leads, develops and supports the growth of Tiffany business, with direct responsibility for all sales related activities and responsibilities for supporting functions. Responsible for the achievement of sales goals by developing and executing sales strategy, forecasts, budgets and staffing plans in a balanced way, growing all business segments equally and consistently.

The Managing Director is a strong, decisive and collaborative leader who builds a climate of the Tiffany experience and client development by maximising the performance of motivated, engaged employees. They are a loyal and constant ambassador that builds relationships with retail and businesses, clients, functional counterparts and Tiffany employees. They are an important member of the South Asia Pacific (SAP) management team and a role model of LVMH / Tiffany Values and a champion for compliance with company policies and procedures. Reporting Team: Retail Director, Omnichannel Director, Client Relations & High Jewelry Director, Communications Director, Human Resources Director, Finance Director, Merchandising Manager, Executive Assistant. 
 

Responsibilities

Fiscal Accountability

  • Deliver commercial sales and profitability targets
  • Develop, execute and maintain overall sales, expense and profitability strategy including forecasts, budgets, staffing plans and be able to perform in and adapt to shifting of market priorities, economic conditions and the general demands of the business.
  • Guide and support the sales and store leaders in their achievement of sales, expense and profitability targets on a monthly, quarterly, annual and rolling basis.
  • Oversee and ensure effective execution and ongoing management of strategic retail objectives and companywide initiatives.
  • Demonstrate favorable / positive Audit control results and full compliance (individually and reporting team) with Tiffany policies and procedures

Talent Management

  • Coach and develop a strong sales management team by providing guidance, support and regular performance feedback to foster a store environment of the Tiffany Experience to enhance client engagement, build enduring relationships and represent Tiffany Brand values throughout the market.
  • Develop and oversee Staffing activities including hiring, retaining and promoting the highest performers using fair, transparent and fact based criteria. Build a robust internal and external pipeline by identifying and selecting top talent for every hiring decision. Collaborate with HR and Senior Management team to ensure a consistent, branded onboarding experience for all new employees.
  • Oversee and provide guidance on training initiatives, in conjunction with Education and Development to ensure all staff are appropriately inducted and trained in selling, client development as well as operational, client services etc.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures through effective and timely communications.
  • Develop and maintain a positive and professional working environment both internally and externally by demonstrating leadership through the highest levels of trust, integrity, fairness and professionalism.
  • Act as a Role Model, demonstrating the expected behaviors and sales abilities to all sales staff

Client and Business Development

  • Assess the market opportunities to develop a proactive and effective client development strategy focusing on international tourism.
  • Identify and build relations potential business partners, e.g. landlords, hotels and entertainment sectors, etc..  Propose and implement plans to expand the potential client pool and enhance the outreach to potential clients
  • Strengthen the client base, existing and new clients. Understand the client profiles and set up specific targets and plan for the stores. Work with the store management in setting up client development objectives for each member and monitor the result.
  • Assess local market opportunities to develop together with the Client Development Manager a proactive and effective client development strategy to drive new client acquisition, lapsed client re-engagement, and cultivation of Tiffany Register (TR) clients, optimizing promotion and TR activities.
  • Search and propose new potential locations and present to Management for consideration, taking into account of market conditions, demography, competition and related luxury business potentials
  • Develops a healthy balance between different merchandise categories (specifically between fine, fashion, engagement and statement), providing the correct support and training for the development of each one

Functional Partnerships / Regional Leadership

  • Work closely with SAP Regional functional heads to guarantee effective support for the Australia & New Zealand business priorities and the correct growth of the business
  • Influence functional agendas to achieve Australia & New Zealand business objectives
  • Work collaboratively with finance, marketing and merchandising to build an effective and ambitious annual plan for Australia & New Zealand, establishing the correct KPI's and measurements to ensure timely tracking, course correction and compliance
  • Act as a Role Model in the SAP Management Team, advocating together with other market heads for the correct level of functional support to the business and creating conditions to build a One SAP Team with collectively shared goals/objectives and resources

Preferred

  • Degree holder / MBA
