About the Function:

Procurement shapes how we build and grow our brands through the partnerships, services and materials that support our business.

Managing over US$12bn of spend, this team works across our global supply chain to create value, drive efficiency and support sustainable growth. From supplier partnerships to innovation, their work has a direct impact on the quality and success of our brands.

You’ll collaborate with teams and partners around the world, helping deliver solutions that meet today’s needs while shaping what comes next.

About the Role:

The Market Category Manager – Supply (Australia) plays a key role in shaping and delivering Diageo Australia’s logistics procurement strategy, driving value, resilience, supplier performance and productivity across the supply network.

Working within the APAC Supply Procurement team, the role partners closely with the Australia Supply Leadership Team and MOVE to translate regional category strategies into market impact. This is a highly influential role that connects Procurement, Supply and external partners to simplify ways of working, unlock supplier value and support Diageo’s growth and sustainability ambitions.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead the execution of the Australia Logistics category strategy in partnership with APAC Supply Procurement, MOVE and key Supply stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and suppliers, acting as a trusted Procurement business partner and connector between market and regional teams.
  • Drive sourcing, negotiation, contract management and supplier performance to deliver financial, service, quality, risk and productivity outcomes.
  • Lead supplier governance and performance reviews, finding opportunities to improve service, resilience, innovation and total cost.
  • Partner with Supply Leadership to identify difficulties, simplify ways of working and build procurement priorities around business needs.
  • Drive sustainability and responsible sourcing initiatives with suppliers, supporting Diageo’s Society 2030 ambitions across inclusion, sustainability and positive drinking.
  • Support the broader Procurement team through capability building, guideline sharing and strong governance, compliance and execution within the field.

Experience / Skills Required:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Procurement, Category Management, Strategic Sourcing or a similar commercial role, ideally within FMCG or a supply-led environment.
  • Proven experience developing and accomplishing category strategies, sourcing initiatives and supplier performance programs, ideally across Logistics.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to understand cost drivers, identify value opportunities and make decisions based on total business value.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating with and influencing suppliers, with strong contract, risk and performance management capability.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and collaborate effectively across regional, global and cross-functional teams.
  • Highly analytical, organised and resilient, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Clear and compelling communicator who can simplify complex issues, challenge the status quo and mobilise stakeholders to deliver results.
