About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the Marketing Executive has responsibility for the outbound marketing activities for Elsevier Australia’s range of Local Language Published book titles (LLP) including management of third-party online seller channels (3PP) as well as coordination and management of external events and exhibitions.

Together with the support of the Head of Marketing, you will craft the messaging and positioning for products and conceive and develop innovative marketing programs that drive demand. Attention to detail and an eye for quality, the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously, and digital marketing and ecommerce knowledge are crucial. 


Marketing plays a critical role in successfully driving our products into the marketplace by understanding the current market environment and developing a strategy to drive customer awareness of the benefits of Elsevier Australia's products and solutions. In addition to helping determine pricing, sales tools, and collateral, Marketing Executives use several channels in order to secure Elsevier’s position in the marketplace including digital marketing campaigns, industry events, data analysis, case studies etc.


This is a permanent full-time role based in our Chatswood, Sydney head office, with the opportunity to have a hybrid home/ office based working environment and flexible work-life balance.

Responsibilities

  • Build and deliver on the yearly books marketing strategy and calendar and ensure that activities are delivered on time, to budget, to required standards and that opportunities are maximised

  • Manage creation of books marketing materials including leaflets, posters, flyers, eDMs, newsletters, social media content etc.

  • Work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including agencies, Channel Manager and content and product teams to support books business growth

  • Manage online retailer marketing programs and ensure that growth targets are met through partnerships and activities (incl. Elsevier eCommerce, Amazon Marketing Services (AMS), Booktopia, eBay and Kogan)

  • Manage the end-to-end organisation of conferences including the coordination of all operational requirements related to setting up an exhibition booth such as liaising with organisers, furniture hire and marketing material collation

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline with 3 years’ experience in a marketing role.

  • Track record of delivering successful marketing campaigns including digital campaigns.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

  • Experience managing ecommerce campaigns.

  • Strong understanding of user needs and a history of effectively addressing them.

  • Experience organising exhibitor booths for conferences.

  • A genuine passion for marketing.

  • Desired Industry knowledge – medical, education and health
