Purpose of role:
Lead the Lynx brands for Unilever Australia including market leading purpose driven brands. On top of full leadership of the local Brand Marketing Plan the responsibilities of the SBM are:
Strategic Development of Plans to continue to lighten the load for families across ANZ and grow the business
Representing Business team with holistic P&L responsibility – Providing input to volume forecasting, financial updates and monitors key indicators and drivers of brand performance (6P’s). Recommends solutions and implement plans.
Leading Cross Functional teams – CMI, Customer, SC, R&D and Agencies to set the strategy & execution for Laundry
Inspires, Coaches and Develops Brand Manger and ABM(s) in the Marketing team
Ownership for the full Brand Marketing Planning including execution of Media, Activation and Shopper Marketing plans
Partnering with Global to execute or create winning mixes & communication assets for the Australian/NZ markets
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Engaging with major retailers / food chains at similarly senior levels.
Briefing, critiquing and providing direction to agencies on various elements of communication development and activation
Strong understanding of Brand Management, Brand activation, and Channel marketing with breadth in Customer marketing, Brand Development, R&D and Supply Chain interaction.
Good understanding of all aspects of consumer insight, including monitoring brand health, measuring comms effectiveness, innovation insights and evaluation, and sales performance monitoring.
Proficiency and experience in utilizing key consumer insight tools including Brand Health Tracking, Nielsen Scan/Homescan tracking systems, Quantium, and qualitative techniques for innovation and comms testing.
Good strategic thinker, with business acumen and ability to partner with senior level executives
Strong commercial understanding – experience developing business cases for innovation or other marketing investments and ability to manage drivers to deliver P&L objectives and understand P&L impacts of decisions and investments.
Strong influencing and people management skills - ability to engage/motivate colleagues and stakeholders behind a project, including the ability to reconcile and sell both commercial and purpose-driven agenda.
Proven ability to thrive in a matrix organization (cross-functional / cross-border) with multiple levels of alignment.
Leadership, coaching and people management skills. Ability to be part of a cross-functional leadership team, and to provide direct leadership to direct reports.
Experience of working in an international environment or with international stakeholders
Excellent presentation and communication skills – written, and oral.
Language skills – English.
IT skills: Confident and experienced user of PowerPoint, Excel, Nielsen, MS Project
Consultation:
Marketing Director, Regional/Global Marketing Teams, Global / Local R&D, Operations and Technical functions, CCBT and associated business partners: Category Management, Supply Chain, R&D and Finance, Customer Development, UALT and Marketing Leadership Team, Media Director & Media Agencies, Creative agencies and activation agencies.
Essential Experience:
5+ years’ experience with exposure in Brand Building, Brand Development or Category Management, or equivalent cross-functional experience.
Proven experience in developing and implementing effective and integrated Brand Marketing Plans, leveraging global framework and executing well in-market
Proven experience in developing innovation projects and business cases though to launch.
Experience managing direct reports, and/or fulfilling coaching and mentoring roles for others.
Trade Customer experience – either in direct customer/category roles, or strong experience in presenting to and/or negotiating with major customers.
Desirable:
Commercial acumen and experience working in a cross-functional team with holistic P&L responsibility.
Strong experience in Marketing, particularly previous experience in consumer goods, communication development, media strategy and deployment, activation planning and deployment.
Strong NPD skills, with experience in developing mixes.
