Close the deal. Lead the team. Own the market.

Are you a driven, commercially minded sales leader ready to own one of the most strategically significant portfolios in the Pacific?

Avis Budget Group is seeking a results-focused Mid-Market & Government Sales Manager to lead our commercial sales efforts across two of our most dynamic customer segments in Australia — and beyond. This is a high-impact role that places you at the centre of our revenue growth agenda, with full accountability for strategy, team performance, and the relationships that define our competitive edge.

As a NASDAQ-listed company and market leader in the Pacific and globally, Avis Budget Group is committed to delivering exceptional mobility solutions to commercial and government customers who depend on us every day. We’re looking for a seasoned professional who brings strategic clarity to complex environments, leads with purpose, and is energised by the challenge of winning meaningful business.

The Opportunity

This role is responsible for the following across the Pacific:

  • Own the mid-market and government sales strategy — developing and executing integrated approaches that drive new business acquisition, account retention, and revenue growth across both segments

  • Lead with commercial rigour — hold full accountability for segment revenue targets, pipeline development, forecast accuracy, and profit-focused pricing strategies for Australia

  • Build and elevate high-performing teams — manage, coach, develop, and motivate a team of Account Managers to consistently exceed targets

  • Win at the highest levels — oversee complex, high-value deals across government and strategic mid-market accounts, applying best-in-class account management strategies to secure and grow key relationships

  • Expand across borders — proactively develop Trans-Tasman AU/NZ accounts through a coordinated regional approach, unlocking opportunities that extend beyond a single market

  • Collaborate strategically — partner with the Head of Sales Pacific and key internal stakeholders across Operations, Finance, Marketing, Legal, and Product to ensure seamless go-to-market execution

  • Shape commercial outcomes — contribute to the overall commercial strategy as a member of the Sales Leadership team, bringing the voice of the mid-market and government segments into decisions that matter

  • Drive business performance — deliver accurate forecasting, pipeline visibility, and reporting to executive leadership, while ensuring CRM discipline and data integrity across the team

What We’re Looking For

Bring your 5+ years of progressive sales experience — including demonstrated leadership with accountability for significant revenue portfolios — and we will put it to work on one of the most rewarding commercial challenges in the Pacific mobility market.

You will have a proven track record of selling into mid-market and government sectors, with the expertise to navigate complex procurement frameworks, manage long sales cycles, and close large-scale deals that others find difficult. A deep understanding of public sector procurement processes is not a nice-to-have here — it is foundational to how you operate.

Your approach is grounded in strategy. You bring strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate insight into action — developing territory plans, setting account priorities, and allocating resources in ways that consistently deliver results. You are as capable of designing a go-to-market strategy as you are of sitting across the table from a government procurement team and winning their trust.

Leadership comes naturally to you. You know how to build a team culture that is focused on performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement — and you understand that the best results come from developing the people around you, not just from your own individual contribution. Your coaching instincts are sharp, your standards are high, and your team knows it.

Above all, you are relationship-driven and commercially fearless. You understand that in both the mid-market and government space, trust is the currency that underpins every contract, every renewal, and every expansion. You build it deliberately, maintain it consistently, and leverage it to create long-term value for your customers and for Avis Budget Group.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary with a market leading performance-based bonus structure

  • Hybrid working arrangement — flexibility to work from home and in the office

  • Fully maintained company vehicle, including petrol, insurance & maintenance

  • Access to exclusive discounts with leading retailers, fitness providers, entertainment venues, and more

  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme for mental health and wellbeing support

  • Employee discounts on car rentals across Avis Budget Group

  • Structured leadership development and access to global career pathways within a NASDAQ-listed organisation

If you’re ready to take ownership of a high-impact portfolio, lead a talented team, and build something that genuinely advances your career — this is your opportunity to make it happen within one of the world’s most recognised mobility brands.

Apply today and drive the future of mobility with Avis Budget Group.
