About the Role

Our Middleware team is at the heart of delivering robust, scalable technology solutions to some of Australia and New Zealand's largest enterprise organisations. As a Middleware Consultant, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing complex middleware platforms that solve real business challenges. You'll work across the full lifecycle of projects—from evaluating customer needs and strategic planning through to solution design, implementation, and ongoing support. You will have the opportunity to lead defined projects and mentor team members.

Our offices are based in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra or Adelaide. We like to bring people together in person when we can, but we are mindful of the benefits of working from home for work/life balance. We therefore leave it to you and the team you join to figure out what works best!

Please note that to be successful in this role, you must be an Australian Citizen and hold an active NV1 Security clearance. This role will be offered as a 6-month contract.

What you'll do

At the moment, as Middleware Consultant you will be focused on:

• Designing, implementing and documenting complex Middleware platforms that meet evolving IT requirements
• Designing, building and implementing Middleware platforms and systems to agreed specifications
• Providing input into High Level and Detailed Designs
• Delivering services on time and to budget
• Evaluating customer business needs and providing input to strategic planning
• Providing sound advice, consultancy and thought leadership to customers
• Recognising and promptly advising management of potential problems and follow-on business opportunities
• Assisting with sales proposals and liaising with customers during preliminary installation and testing

What you'll bring

Required experience:

• 5+ years' experience in a relevant technical consulting role
• DevOps Automation: Azure DevOps, Ansible, GitLab CI-CD, GitHub, Ansible, Containers, Kubernetes, Puppet, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk
• Enterprise Applications: Oracle Fusion Middleware (FMW), Oracle Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Oracle Service Bus (OSB), Oracle Enterprise Data Quality (OEDQ), Oracle Intelligent Advisor (OIA), AXWAY API Gateway, Oracle e-Business Suite (ERP), Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI), Oracle Web Centre (UCM), Oracle Identity and Access Management (IAM), Oracle Web ADI, Oracle Discoverer
• Web Server: WebLogic (12c, 14c), Oracle HTTP Server (OHS), Tomcat Apache
• Databases: Cassandra DB, Hyperion (Essbase)
• Programming Tools & Technologies: Shell scripting, WebLogic Scripting (WLST), Ansible playbooks, Python, Java, SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle forms, Oracle 
• Reports: BI Publisher, Virtualizations Tools
• System Integrations: Web Services (Soap /REST), Messaging Queues (JMS/MQ), Data interchange (XML, JSON, Java Query, XQuery, XSLT, YAML, ETL)
• Security: OpenSSH, OpenSSL, JKS, Oracle Wallet/PKI, OAuth, Web (proxy, WAF, TLS/SSL), J-Frog Artifactory, Oracle Directory (OID, OVD, UVD), LDAP, Oracle Access Manager (Web gate)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a wide variety of stakeholders
• Effective presentation skills with the ability to convey technical information across various levels
• Ability to communicate technical concepts and align them with client business goals and objectives

Nice to have:

• Collaborating with multiple Datacom and customer technical teams, business stakeholders, project managers, and third-party vendors to successfully deliver business and technology outcomes.
• Experience with multiple middleware platforms across different vendor ecosystems
• Background in solution architecture
• Customer-facing experience with enterprise-level organisations
