The Network Analyst is an entry-level position within the networking team, responsible for assisting in the monitoring, maintenance, and support of network infrastructure for clients. This role is suited to a motivated individual with a passion for networking technologies who is keen to learn and grow within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Under the guidance of senior team members, the Junior Network Analyst will help ensure network performance, availability, and security across various environments. 

This role is designed to provide a foundational pathway into advanced networking roles. With training, certification support, and mentorship, the Junior Network Analyst will gain the experience needed to grow into a Network Analyst or Network Engineer position. 


Requirements

What you'll do:

  • Monitor and respond to network alerts using network monitoring tools. 
  • Assist with troubleshooting network connectivity issues across LAN, WAN, and wireless environments. 
  • Provide first and second-level support for network-related incidents and service requests. 
  • Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware and software (e.g., switches, firewalls, routers, and wireless access points). 
  • Assist with network documentation, including diagrams, change records, and asset registers. 
  • Participate in network upgrades, patching, and configuration changes under supervision. 
  • Perform basic firewall and VPN configurations under the direction of senior engineers. 
  • Collaborate with other technical teams to resolve cross-functional issues. 
  • Maintain awareness of current networking technologies and best practices. 
  • Ensure compliance with security policies, processes, and standards. 
  • Contribute to knowledge base documentation and team learning resources. 

What you'll bring:

  • Exposure to vendors such as Fortinet, Cisco, Ubiquiti, or Aruba. 
  • Understanding of firewall configurations and VPN concepts. 
  • Experience with monitoring tools 
  • Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., PowerShell or Bash). 
  • ITIL awareness or certification. 
  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Networking, or equivalent experience. 
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts such as IP addressing, routing, switching, firewalls, and wireless technologies. 
  • Exposure to or understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs). 
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows networking environments. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges. 
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
