About Us

There’s something special about working for a company like Macquarie Telecom. We’re not the biggest in the industry, where you’re just a number. We’re not tiny enough that you’ve never heard of us. We’re in that sweet spot where we’re strong enough to punch above our weight. And we definitely do! Because of this, you have the opportunity to make a difference.

The Opportunity

At Macquarie Telecom, we’re not your typical telco.

We challenge the status quo, obsess over our customers, and back our people to do their best work. Our team consistently achieves industry-leading customer satisfaction because we hire people who genuinely care about delivering outcomes, not just selling products.

We're looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our Sydney sales team and drive new customer acquisition across our market-leading voice, mobile, data, cloud and managed services solutions.

This is a true hunting role. You'll identify opportunities, build trusted executive relationships, and create commercial solutions that help customers solve real business problems. Supported by Solution Architects, product specialists and technical experts, you'll lead strategic sales opportunities from prospecting through to close.

If you're commercially driven, thrive on winning new business, and enjoy engaging with senior decision-makers, we'd love to hear from you.

About you

    • A proven new business hunter with a strong record of exceeding sales targets.
    • Passionate about helping customers solve business challenges through technology.
    • Comfortable engaging with C-suite executives and influencing key decision makers.
    • Experienced building relationships across multiple stakeholders within an organisation.
    • Highly motivated, self-directed and accountable for your own success.
    • Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
    • Collaborative and able to leverage internal subject matter experts to win complex opportunities.
    • Resilient, driven and energised by achieving results.
    • Curious about technology and motivated to stay ahead of industry trends.
    • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.

What you will bring

    • Minimum 5 years' experience in B2B technology or telecommunications sales.
    • Proven success in new business acquisition and quota achievement.
    • Experience selling telecommunications, managed services, cloud, connectivity, voice, mobile or related technology solutions.
    • Strong understanding of Voice, Data, Hosting, Mobile and Managed Services solutions.
    • Experience selling into mid-market or enterprise customers.
    • Demonstrated ability to build executive-level business cases and ROI discussions.
    • Experience working with structured sales methodologies such as Challenger, SPIN, Miller Heiman or TAS.
    • Strong pipeline management and forecasting capability.
    • Experience using CRM and sales reporting tools.
    • Commercial proposal and tender development experience.
