Americold is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to provide practical safety leadership and support across multiple sites. This role partners closely with operational leaders to drive a positive safety culture, ensure compliance with WHS legislation, and improve safety performance across the region.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Partner with site leaders to promote safe work practices and strong safety leadership.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing improvement of Americold's Safety Management System.
  • Lead risk assessments and assist sites to identify, assess and control workplace hazards.
  • Support the management of critical risks, including ammonia refrigeration systems, hazardous chemicals and high-risk plant.
  • Lead or support incident investigations and ensure effective corrective actions are implemented.
  • Provide guidance on WHS compliance, electrical safety, contractor management and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with emergency management planning, training and site readiness activities.
  • Coordinate Return-to-Work programs and support injury management activities.
  • Analyse safety data and provide insights and recommendations to leaders.
  • Maintain a strong presence in the field and build relationships with frontline teams.
     

What You'll Bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a safety, risk, process safety or Return-to-Work role.
  • Experience working in operational, industrial, manufacturing, logistics or similar environments.
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and risk assessments.
  • Excellent coaching, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • ICAM Investigation training and experience with HAZOP or similar risk methodologies will be highly regarded.
