About the role:

A leadership position within the Operations department the Operations Supervisor is responsible for leading a team consisting of supervisors, team leaders, trades and technicians, ensuring that maintenance and repairs of infrastructure are undertaken safely, on time, to the correct quality, in accordance with JCDecaux’s and its contract partners’ requirements.


Key Accountabilities:         

  • Work towards a zero-harm workplace and ensure compliance with company health and safety systems
  • Report & investigate any safety concerns, hazards or incidences within the agreed timelines
  • Perform inspections and audits of sub-contractor worksites and documentation to ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements
  • Foster a values driven team culture
  • Responsible for monitoring yearly competencies with staff and delegate to appropriate supervisory team members to ensure all relevant processes are followed and understood
  • Lead employee consultation session such as toolbox meetings in an open, inclusive manner
  • Ensure that all staff have the relevant tools, equipment and training to carry out their role
  • Work with the direct Manager to set achievable yet challenging benchmarks for proficiency
  • Ensure that repairs are undertaken to quality and safety standards
  • Ensure that infrastructure on maintenance routes are maintained to the applicable quality and safety standard

TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

You have at least 3 years' experience in the management of operational personnel working within an urban environment. Strong leadership and cultural alignment are critical to the role as well as:

  • A proven track record in:
  • Problem solving
  • Small to medium size project management
  • Managing Health and Safety requirements
  • Establishing coaching / mentoring frameworks
  • Intermediate computer skills and sound knowledge in MS Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Experience working within a construction/street furniture environment
  • A high standard of interpersonal and communication skills.
