- Positions Ericsson and Optus as innovative, trusted leaders in the Australianmarket
- Prepares for 6G evolution and achieves Level 4 (L4) autonomous networkcapabilities in the core domain
What you will do
- Work at a strategic level to define and execute the Core Network TechnologyStrategy for CU Optus across core, cloud infrastructure, IMS, signalling, dual modecore, 4G and 5G from a service support and operations perspective.
- Shape and influence Optus' network and technology vision and investmentroadmap, ensuring core network evolution aligns with Optus' commercialobjectives and financial performance targets.
- Engage regularly with Optus C-suite and senior technology leaders, as well asregulators, vendors and partners, to drive alignment on architecture, standards,security and operational excellence for the core domain.
- Provide domain thought leadership on telco cloud, network slicing, automation,resilience and security for Optus' core network, ensuring alignment with Optus'broader IT and RAN strategies and Ericsson's global directions.
- Own, in partnership with Optus, the end-to-end architecture and lifecycle of thecore network (from strategy and design through deployment, operations andretirement), ensuring performance, reliability and compliance with Optus'requirements and regulatory obligations.
- Provide leadership and direction to a multi-disciplinary Ericsson team (includingarchitecture, engineering, operations and vendor management) dedicated to CUOptus, fostering a high-performance, customer-centric and learning-focusedculture.
- Sponsor and govern major Optus transformation programs (e.g. dual mode coreintroduction, 4G to 5G core migration, IMS evolution, signalling modernization,observability, and Autonomous Network L4 support), providing oversight,guidance and escalation support to delivery teams in partnership with Optus.
- Ensure effective risk management and cybersecurity for Optus' core, IMS andsignalling domains, including business continuity, disaster recovery andregulatory compliance.
- Act as the single accountable Ericsson technology voice for the core domaintowards Optus, ensuring coherent communication, escalation management andlong-term partnership development.

Leads a large business area technology organization for CU Optus, either directly or through subordinate managers and subject matter experts, contributing to the development of the joint Ericsson-Optus long-term technology and network strategy (including 6G and L4 autonomy), and managing large, multi-team transformation programmes. - Complexity
Directs the resolution of highly complex or unusual technology and business problems in the Optus core domain, including 6G evolution and L4 autonomous network strategy, governance and implementation, applying advanced critical thinking, deep technical expertise and data-driven decision making. - Contribution
Guided by Ericsson's and Optus' business and technology strategies, with broad impact on CU, divisional and regional results through core network strategy, investments and execution at Optus, including the roadmap to 6G and L4 autonomous operations. - Interaction
Shapes and negotiates with Optus senior leaders and external stakeholders (including partners, vendors and regulators), establishing collaborative relationships across Ericsson, CU Optus and the wider ecosystem to drive shared outcomes for the telco core domain and its journey towards 6G and L4 autonomy.
