Why this is an exciting opportunity


We are looking for an experienced Payroll Officer on a Fixed Term Contract basis until September 2027 to support the accurate, timely and compliant delivery of payroll across the HUB24 Group. Reporting to the Manager, Group Payroll, you will work closely with People & Culture and Finance to manage payroll processing, reconciliations, employee lifecycle changes and payroll enquiries.
This role will suit someone who combines strong payroll knowledge with excellent attention to detail, sound judgement and a practical approach to investigating and resolving issues.

What you’ll be doing


  • Support payroll processing and ensure payroll transactions and payments are accurate and delivered on time.

  • Complete Modern Award compliance reconciliations and support compliance with relevant payroll legislation.

  • Process payroll requirements for new starters, employee changes and terminations.

  • Prepare and deliver payslips and Single Touch Payroll reporting requirements.

  • Assist with PAYG withholding, payroll tax, Superannuation Guarantee contributions and employee choice of fund requirements.

  • Manage leave entitlements and payroll-related payments.

  • Complete payroll account reconciliations, month-end reporting and payroll tax lodgements.

  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee payroll enquiries.

  • Liaise with the Australian Taxation Office when required.

  • Maintain accurate payroll records, filing and archiving.

  • Work collaboratively with People & Culture and Finance to support effective payroll 


What you bring


You don’t need to tick every box, but experience in the below will set you up for success.


Experience & Skills


  • Comprehensive knowledge of Modern Awards and their application in payroll.

  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll practices, procedures, operations and relevant legislation.

  • Experience using Workday or a comparable payroll platform.

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including reconciliations, data analysis, variance checking and working with large payroll datasets.

  • A high level of accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality.

  • The ability to investigate issues, identify causes and deliver practical solutions.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build trusted working relationships.

  • The ability to manage deadlines, work autonomously and contribute as part of a broader team.
