We’re looking for a Payroll Officer to join our People & Culture team and play an important role in ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time. This is a great opportunity for someone with payroll experience who enjoys working with people, solving problems and getting the detail right.

About the role: 

Working as part of our payroll team, you’ll support the accurate and timely processing of our fortnightly payroll while ensuring we meet all legislative, award, enterprise agreement and company requirements.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
•    Assisting with end-to-end fortnightly payroll processing, including timesheets and payroll calculations
•    Processing employee changes including higher duties, superannuation changes, new starters and terminations
•    Responding to payroll queries from employees and managers and providing clear, helpful advice
•    Maintaining accurate employee records across payroll, HR and finance systems
•    Assisting with payroll reconciliations, reporting, audits and compliance activities
•    Ensuring payroll processes comply with Fair Work requirements, Awards, enterprise agreements, superannuation, PAYG and other statutory obligations
•    Supporting payroll system upgrades, testing and process improvements
•    Working with internal stakeholders across People & Culture and external parties such as the ATO, superannuation funds and auditors
•    Identifying opportunities to improve and streamline payroll processes and contributing to payroll governance and policy development
•    Keeping up to date with legislative and regulatory changes impacting payroll

Additionally, we seek: 
•    Chris21 payroll experience is essential
•    Sound understanding of payroll legislation, Awards and superannuation
•    Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
•    Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
•    The ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
•    Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
•    Advanced computer literacy, including Excel and payroll/HRIS systems
•    A positive, solutions-focused approach and a genuine interest in finding better ways of working

A Certificate IV in Payroll Administration, Human Resources or Finance would be desirable, but we’re equally interested in the skills, experience and attitude you bring to the role.
