About the Role

We are seeking a Payroll Operations Specialist to join our ANZ Payroll team. Reporting to the Payroll Manager and supporting two Payroll Officers, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing across the Johnson Controls group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day payroll operational support for ANZ, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.

  • Maintain and update payroll process documentation, checklists, and calendars.

  • Ensure all statutory and non-statutory payments are processed accurately and on schedule.

  • Maintain data integrity within payroll systems and ensure compliance with country-specific requirements.

  • Administer payroll processes, including data collection, calculation, and entry.

  • Prepare summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, insurance, and non-taxable wages.

  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and perform reconciliations.

  • Support month-end and year-end payroll processes.

  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of Single Touch Payroll / Pay Day Filing.

  • Manage payroll and employee master file records.

  • Liaise with third-party vendors to ensure smooth payroll operations.

  • Respond promptly and professionally to employee payroll queries.

  • Assist with payroll system migration projects and other ad-hoc tasks.

  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and best practices.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in Payroll or HR Operations

  • Strong knowledge of interpreting Awards and EBAs

  • Experience with payroll systems such as Chris21, Ramco, Workday, or MS CRM Dynamics

  • Background in unionized environments

  • Payroll certification preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Finance, Business, or related field

  • High attention to detail, strong time management, and excellent communication skills

  • Professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information
