Role summary
The Payroll Subject Matter Expert is responsible in ensuring Payroll services are delivered according to all aspects of the contract in terms of timeliness, quality and in line with the agreed service levels.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute major projects, including annual events and transitions. Participate in delivery assurance activities, project closures, and hypercare planning.
- Drive process improvements, resolve complex issues, and ensure compliance. Support system changes, third-party interactions, and documentation.
- Ensure adherence to legislative changes, update guidelines, participate in audits.
- Extract, analyse and interpret large sets of data, identifying and rectifying inconsistencies and driving improved quality and integrity
- Develop and deliver training content, support operational quality, and contribute to pre-sales activities.
- Handle client communications, lead operations calls, and manage service levels and process improvements.
- Identify critical aspects of the end-to-end process that impact payroll, and work with the business to identify and embed solutions to avoid such issues arising
- Assist with the documentation of technical delivery manuals and knowledge management
- Assist with auditing systems to ensure they are compliant and carry out analysis of payroll data, processes and output.
- Drive change and continuous improvement to ensure efficiency across our payroll function
Position Requirements:
- At least 5 years operations management in BPO set up managing HR Payroll Services or HR Employee Services (or equivalent experience)
- Must have extensive experience in SAP and payroll system technology.
- Knowledge and understanding of Awards, EBA’s & Legislation
- Proficient in HR processes, advanced project management, and problem-solving. Experience in client management, detailed-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Expert in New Zealand payroll, able to guide clients as needed
- Excellent client relationship capability and proven experience managing accounts
