Your role

You’ll be part of our People & Development (P&D) Consulting Team, working closely with leaders across Allens to shape the conditions for high performance, growth and meaningful contribution. This is a senior business partnering role where you’ll help leaders translate firm strategy into clear people priorities, practical decisions and better outcomes for our people, teams and clients.

As a P&D Manager, you will partner with stakeholder groups across the firm, helping leaders build capable, engaged and future-ready teams. You will:

  • Partner with leaders to identify people priorities and develop practical, commercial solutions that support business performance, team effectiveness and people outcomes.

  • Help leaders set clear expectations, build capability and create an environment where high performance is both expected and supported.

  • Design and deliver people strategies, initiatives and projects that strengthen engagement, performance, talent development and leadership effectiveness.

  • Lead the delivery of annual performance, talent and remuneration processes, coaching leaders to make consistent, well-judged and evidence-based decisions.

  • Drive change and continuous improvement initiatives aligned to firm strategy and evolving business needs.

  • Use workforce, people data and emerging technology to identify trends, improve decision-making and support smarter ways of working.

  • Identify, manage and escalate people risks, providing clear, pragmatic guidance on employee relations matters.

  • Coach and influence leaders to give effective feedback, develop talent and make people decisions that support contribution, growth and client outcomes.

  • Collaborate across P&D and other business functions to deliver joined-up, simple and effective experiences for our people and clients.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity. At Allens, we have a hybrid working structure, typically 60% in the office and 40% from home. We would be happy to discuss any other flexible working arrangements that best support you.

About you

You will bring:

  • Experience in a senior HR or business partnering role, preferably within professional services or another complex, matrixed organisation.

  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to connect people priorities to business strategy, client outcomes and team performance.

  • Experience partnering with senior leaders to develop and implement people strategies that are practical, evidence-based and aligned to business needs.

  • The confidence to influence, challenge constructively and build trusted relationships across a range of senior stakeholders.

  • Experience leading change, improving ways of working and helping teams adapt in a changing environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with confidence using data and insights to inform recommendations and decisions.

  • Experience managing employee relations matters and identifying and mitigating people risks in a pragmatic and balanced way.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor your approach and make complex people issues clear and actionable.

  • A collaborative, curious and commercially focused mindset, with the resilience and initiative to work autonomously while contributing to a broader team.

  • A commitment to learning, feedback, mentoring others and continuing to build your own capability.

Your development

At Allens, you’ll be supported to grow through meaningful work, stretch opportunities, feedback, coaching and access to high-quality learning. You’ll work with experienced leaders and colleagues across the firm, building your capability, judgement and influence through the work you do every day.
