Information Technology at the RBA is an exciting and dynamic area and is the technological backbone of the Australian financial system. At the RBA, you’ll contribute to challenging and meaningful work that makes a difference and creates a direct and positive impact on the Australian people.
Our Planning and Performance Management team is responsible for management of governance and secretariat activities within the Information Technology department, strategic planning, and management reporting that supports optimal decision making across our department.
Your role
As Planning & Performance Specialist, you’ll take the lead coordinating and supporting governance and secretariat activities in the IT department, along with supporting the effectiveness of the executive function within the department.
More specifically, you’ll:

Maintain and mature the RBA’s IT Governance Framework in collaboration with the wider RBA governance community

Plan and coordinate IT-led management forums, and liaise with secretaries of other key RBA management committees and forums to ensure consistency and alignment content and dates

Prepare and organise agendas, papers, and minutes for technology-oriented governance and management forums, and proactively seek opportunities to streamline key processes across technology management, governance and secretariat functions

Manage and coordinate special projects as required by the CIO and IT Executive, ensuring alignment with Bank and departmental objectives
Your background

We’re hiring for attitude and capability, although there are some technical skills we need as well:

Excellent writing and presentation skills, along with the ability to prepare high quality and visually appealing presentations suited for executive audiences.

Excellent critical thinking, research skills, and ability to apply judgement and creativity in analysis of strategic themes and generating ideas to solve complex problems. High level of initiative.

Ability to engage effectively with senior internal stakeholders, applying a consultative approach to influencing and negotiation

Ability to operate autonomously, set priorities. Outstanding organisation skills with the ability to drive others to meet deadlines.

A university degree in business, technology or similar

Understanding of the IT landscape (eg, software development lifecycle and project management frameworks, documentation, standards and methodologies), financial services and/or public sector would be advantageous, although not essential
