As Principal Enterprise Architect, you will play a defining role in shaping Zip’s future technology landscape across ANZ. This is a senior, hands on architecture role where you will set multi year target state architecture, define clear guardrails, and work shoulder to shoulder with Staff and Principal Engineers to influence real systems that matter. You will balance long term architectural integrity with the pace of product delivery, ensuring Zip’s platforms remain scalable, compliant, secure and ready for AI driven innovation.

What you’ll own

• Define and evolve Zip’s multi year enterprise and domain architecture across lending, payments, ledger, digital channels, data and platform capabilities
• Personally author reference architectures, domain models, integration patterns and exemplar designs that teams can apply in practice
• Establish principle led architecture governance that enables speed, autonomy and high quality decision making
• Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data, Security and Risk leaders to align technology strategy with customer and business outcomes
• Embed AI first and agentic design patterns that enable safe, scalable automation across regulated financial workflows
• Champion simplicity, resilience, reuse and strong financial correctness across all platforms
• Guide major transformation initiatives including core modernisation, platform integration and cloud evolution
• Influence critical design and code level decisions where scalability, risk, security or financial accuracy are at stake

What you'll bring to the team

• Extensive experience in enterprise or solution architecture within fintech or financial services environments
• Deep understanding of lending, payments, ledgering and credit or risk platforms in regulated settings
• Proven capability defining target state architectures and leading complex multi domain transformations
• Strong expertise in cloud native and distributed systems including event driven and API first architectures
• Hands on experience shaping data platforms and enabling AI and ML driven decisioning at scale
• Confidence partnering with senior executives while remaining deeply credible with engineers
• Ability to simplify complex systems and drive architectural clarity that accelerates delivery
• Experience working with modern cloud platforms and streaming technologies such as AWS or GCP and Kafka or PubSub
• A mindset that embraces AI and new tools to adapt, learn and grow.
