Join Australia's largest commercial credit bureau as the Principal Product Manager for Commercial Risk, where you will own the portfolio’s P&L and drive the strategic agenda to deliver against revenue and profit targets.

You will act as a primary architect of Australia's commercial risk landscape, leveraging a unique platform backed by Equifax’s massive global investment. As we transition into a secure, cloud-native data fabric, this market-facing role offers you a powerful platform for industry-wide influence—modernising the B2B data ecosystem and driving faster, more confident commercial decisions.

What you’ll do

  • Lead Strategic Change: Partner with senior industry stakeholders to design, formulate, and deliver integrated strategic product roadmaps that drive innovation and improved commercial outcomes.

  • Translate Strategy into Action: Formulate and operationalise business line planning, defining product positioning, pricing, promotion, and partnerships to build long-term strategic value.

  • Drive Go-To-Market (GTM) Execution: Manage comprehensive launch plans, including sales enablement, marketing initiatives, operational readiness, and post-sales support.

  • Advocate for the Industry: Act as a prominent, market-facing ambassador to identify emerging issues and engage key influencers across the finance and credit management landscape.

  • Champion Change and Innovation: Lead the co-design of innovative, data-driven solutions with internal and external stakeholders, proving value through strong market validation and commercial pragmatism.

  • P&L and Financial Stewardship: Manage monthly revenue forecasting across all product lines, directing investment plans and delivering actionable insights to achieve growth targets.

  • Collaborate Globally & Locally: Lead and mentor a team of product managers, partnering with global product, technology, data, and operations teams to align execution with global transformation programs.

  • Cultivate Stakeholder Advocacy: Build strong, trust-based relationships with financiers, insurers, credit managers, and government bodies to establish industry support for our portfolio solutions.

  • Leverage Data Capabilities: Work closely with Data and Analytics teams to identify, acquire, and utilise new data sets, improving predictive models and scoring capabilities.

  • Manage Product Lifecycle: Track, analyse, and report on key product performance metrics, managing risk, prioritisation, and product optimisation decisions.

What experience you need

  • Product Management Tenure: 7+ years of experience in a dedicated product management role, with demonstrated success in managing product lifecycles, GTM strategies, and product marketing initiatives.

  • Domain Expertise: 7+ years of professional experience across commercial credit, procurement risk, due diligence, financial viability, or credit ratings.

  • Matrixed Environment Execution: Proven experience delivering complex product releases or transformation initiatives within a highly matrixed global corporate structure.

  • Core Product Tooling: At least 2 years of hands-on experience using core product management software, specifically Aha!, JIRA, and Figma.

  • Financial Analysis Capability: Hands-on experience performing financial statement analysis, commercial underwriting activities, or portfolio credit risk analysis.

  • Formal Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business, Marketing, or a related quantitative/analytical discipline.

What could set you apart

  • Enterprise Tenure: 10+ years of commercial product experience working in large-scale, complex organisations.

  • Product Methodology Certifications: Completed training or certification in structured product management frameworks (e.g., Pragmatic Institute, Customer Value Proposition, or Negotiation with Backbone).

  • Design Thinking & Innovation: Demonstrated experience applying design thinking methodologies (such as empathy mapping, persona development, and iterative prototyping) to launch new products.

  • Active Industry Contribution: A track record of active thought leadership, such as contributing to industry journals, government reviews, academic papers, or presenting at industry forums.
