The Principal Product Manager role requires a strong background in home healthcare and SaaS products to help drive and guide our core product strategy. This role will focus on delivering high-value products that address the specific needs of home healthcare agencies, state healthcare systems, and payer organizations. The Principal Product Manager will lead customer-facing projects, manage cross-functional product engineering team outcomes, and develop key third-party partnerships. A significant aspect of the role will involve building relationships with state representatives to support state migrations and new implementations, ensuring the successful adoption of our software. Essential Job Duties

  • Product Strategy & Vision: Drive strategic/tactical vision and solutions for core HHAeXchange product offerings. Co-develop appropriate product roadmap(s) that aligns with market needs, regulatory requirements, and company growth objectives.
  • Ability to translate the evolving needs of the home healthcare market into innovative product features that support care delivery, compliance, and operational efficiencies. This will involve working closely with agency providers and payer organizations to understand their pain points and craft tailored solutions.
  • Customer-Facing Projects: Lead critical customer-facing projects, such as state healthcare system migrations and new software implementations. Build and maintain strong relationships with state representatives, home healthcare agencies, and payer organizations to ensure successful delivery and adoption of our platform.
  • Customer Collaboration: Work closely with home health agencies, caregivers, and other key stakeholders to gather insights, understand pain points, and identify opportunities for product improvements. Engage in user research, usability testing, and market analysis to ensure the product is optimized for real-world home healthcare scenarios.
  • Cross-functional Leadership: Manage and collaborate with product engineering teams to ensure the timely development of features and solutions. Work alongside product team members, ensuring they are aligned with the company’s broader objectives and that all projects are executed in line with the product strategy. Define clear, actionable product requirements that guide the development process, prioritize features, and resolve conflicts across departments
  • Third-Party Partnerships: Identify and foster key partnerships with third-party vendors, ensuring seamless integrations and value-added solutions. Develop and maintain these partnerships to support the broader goals of the platform and drive new growth opportunities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Effectively communicate product strategy, progress, and decisions to internal teams, executives, and external partners. Be an advocate for the product both inside and outside the company, ensuring alignment across all stakeholders. Lead presentations and provide insights on product performance, customer feedback, and market trends to peers, partners, and senior leadership.
  • Industry Expertise: Leveraging in-depth understanding of home healthcare regulations, care models, and operational challenges to inform product decisions and outcomes. Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes (e.g., CMS guidelines), and competitive products to maintain the company’s market leadership.
  • Product Engineering & Team Management: Work closely with engineering teams to define technical requirements and product features. Manage the execution of product deliverables while fostering a collaborative environment. Although this is an individual contributor role, you will influence and guide the work of other product team members and engineering staff to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • State & Agency Relations: Serve as a product engineering point of contact for state representatives, agency providers, and payer organizations, facilitating smooth new customer migrations/onboardings, implementations, and ongoing product engineering integrations. Your role will be critical in ensuring compliance with state regulations, fostering trust with key stakeholders, and driving successful large-scale projects.
  • Product Development & Execution: Key team member helping to oversee end-to-end product development cycle and outcomes, from initial concept and requirements gathering to market launch and iteration. Utilize a data-driven approach to refine the product, optimize performance, and ensure that it meets the evolving needs of home healthcare providers and caregivers

  • Travel 10-25%, including overnight travel

Required Education, Experience, Certifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Admin, Computer Science, or a related field is required
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field is highly desirable
  • Relevant certifications in product management, project management, or healthcare compliance are a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience working in or with the home healthcare industry, including a strong understanding of operational workflows, compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., OASIS, EVV), and payer/provider dynamics. Experience with SaaS product management in the healthcare domain is essential.
  • 8+ years of experience in product management, particularly in SaaS environments. Proven ability to drive strategic product initiatives from concept to execution, ideally within healthcare or home health software companies. Experience working directly with state systems, agency providers, and payer organizations is highly preferred.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Ability to manage cross-functional teams, including product engineers, while fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment. Proven experience influencing teams and stakeholders without direct authority is essential for this role.
  • Third-Party Partnership Management: Experience identifying, developing, and managing partnerships with third-party vendors and solution providers. Ability in negotiating contracts, managing integrations, and building lasting, mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Customer-Facing Project Leadership: Experience managing customer-facing projects, especially large-scale implementations involving state representatives, agency providers, and payer organizations. The ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and ensure seamless software deployments is critical.Communication & Presentation Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical and strategic information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong ability to articulate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strategic Vision & Execution: Proven ability to define and execute a product vision and strategy, balancing short-term needs with long-term goals. Experience with product roadmaps, prioritization frameworks, and guiding cross-functional teams in an agile development environment.
  • Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of SaaS architecture and development processes, including API integrations, cloud-based solutions, and mobile applications. Experience collaborating with engineering teams on technical trade-offs and feasibility.
  • Customer-Centric Mindset: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to empathize with home healthcare providers and caregivers. Skilled in gathering customer feedback and translating it into actionable product requirement.
  • Analytical & Data-Driven: Experience working with data analytics tools to track product performance, analyze user behavior, and make data-driven product decisions. Ability to balance qualitative and quantitative data to inform product decisions.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Ability to lead without authority and work effectively across departments and with senior leadership. Strong presentation skills are required for customer, partner, and internal leadership engagements.
  • Experience with home healthcare software platforms, such as EHRs or caregiver management systems as well as a strong understanding of state healthcare systems and payer/provider relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale state or regional product implementations, migrations, and home healthcare caregiver solutions.
  • Proven success in developing third-party partnerships and integrating external solutions into a SaaS product.
  • Familiarity with home health billing systems and integration of revenue cycle management (RCM) features.
  • Understanding of compliance needs around Electronic Visit Verification (EVV), HIPAA, and other healthcare regulations.

The base salary range for this US-based, full-time, and exempt position is $160,000-180,000 not including variable compensation. An employee’s exact starting salary will be based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, merit, location, and the ability to exemplify the HHAeXchange core values.
