Job Description:

   

The Principle Network Engineer designs, develop, analyse, debug and troubleshoot systems, software and solutions across the Aruba HPE’s portfolio. This role requires a broad knowledge and application of engineering disciplines, tools and methodologies. They are required to apply advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and will be regarded as a subject matter expert. Contributing to the development of new ideas and methods is essential.

The successful candidate will work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, they will be expected to lead and/or provide expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. They will act as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies. Frequently represents the organization to external customers/clients. Exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads multiple project teams of other engineers and internal and outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of development across multiple engineering disciplines for complex products, platforms, systems, software, and technology solutions.
  • Manages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on engineering design and development.
  • Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality.
  • Provides domain-specific expertise and overall engineering leadership and perspective to cross- organization projects, programs, and activities.
  • Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the engineering design organization.
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.

What you need to bring:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or other Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Typically, 5+ years’ experience on Aruba products
  • Provide expert-level technical support to resolve complex network issues, collaborating closely with R&D teams.
  • 8+ years of experience in a technical support role, with a focus on complex network problem-solving.
  • Act as a key point of contact for critical customer inquiries, ensuring timely and effective issue management and resolution.
  • Document and communicate solutions, best practices, and knowledge base articles for internal and external use.
  • Expertise in switching, routing, and WLAN technologies with an emphasis on high-level problem resolution.
  • Knowledge of VLANs, QOS, trunking, RSTP, PVSTP+, ACLs, SNMP, VRRP, OSPF, BGP, VSX, VRF
  • Working knowledge of 802.11a/b/g/n/ac radios
  • Proficient in VPN technologies - L2TP, IKE, IPSec etc
  • Good working or theoretical knowledge of Ethernet, Industrial Ethernet
  • Knowledge of general wireless concepts like SNR, tx rate, rx rate, radio management
  • Live scenario troubleshooting (such as latency issues, application slowness etc)
  • Knowledge of CPPM, Aruba Central and Airwave is a plus.
  • Aruba Wireless implementation experience is a plus/
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts effectively.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.
