PURPOSE

  • The VAS product manager is responsible for leading the strategy, development and optimisation of our Value Added Services pillar, where we can provide additional revenue generating solutions that complement merchants existing payment acceptance solutions. This role ensures that businesses (merchants) can leverage best market fit solutions that compliment their existing payment acceptance solutions, enrich their customers experience, and provide a revenue benefit to both merchants and Global Payments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand the competitive landscape of payments and payment-related industries using data and insights to drive the solution and deliver effective feature sets within APAC.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with 3rd party suppliers/partners, focussing on product enhancements and revenue generation
  • Product Strategy: Define the product vision for existing revenue generating Value Added Services (VAS) including Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC), Installment Payment Plan (IPP), and define new VAS solutions such as Merchant Cash Advance (MCA), including the products purpose and target market servicing both customer present and customer not present
  • Product Roadmap: Define and execute the product roadmap, ensuring clear communication and alignment across the business
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Own the entire product lifecycle, from concept and business case development to launch and ongoing management
  • Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure products comply with market regulations
  • Collaboration: Work closely with numerous stakeholders, including Marketing, Sales and Partnerships to drive product uptake/adoption
  • Expansion: Support growth of product suite across our key markets in Asia and Oceania
  • Market Analysis: Conduct competitor analysis, review product sets against internal and external offerings and analyse product performance
  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Collaborate across the organisation to develop effective go-to-market strategies, leveraging benchmarking and user experience research.
  • Financial Management: Analyse product profitability and maintain a strategic roadmap for/with suppliers

COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS or ABILITIES / BEHAVIOUR)

  • Product Management: Experience in product strategy, management, and development
  • Relationship Management: Proven ability to build, grow and maintain strong relationships, both internally and externally
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to assess data and make informed decisions
  • Financial Acumen: Understand product costs, revenue drivers, and operational processes
  • Technical Skills: Ability to clearly articulate new requirements/developments to platform/technology owners for new features or functionality enhancements to be delivered
  • Problem-Solving and Innovation: Identify and solve problems, developing scalable solutions for use locally and wider across the APAC Product team
  • Prioritisation/Time Management: Skilled in planning and controlling how time is spent in order to increase effectiveness and hitting deadlines
  • VAS Expertise: Possess knowledge of VAS in international markets, particularly in Asia
  • Product Development: Experience in developing and launching value-added services (VAS) from concept to market
  • Market Knowledge: Have a strong grasp of markets and collaborate with localised product managers to gain in-depth insights
  • Commercial Skills: Demonstrate a strong understanding of product costs, and potential revenue generation opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Educated to degree level or relevant experience

SALARY

  • AUD 130k - AUD 180k
