Do work that matters:

The Product Manager role is a vital position delivering key P&L and customer focused outcomes for the CommSec Product & Investing Solutions Crew. You will report to the Chapter Lead for Product Management, and join the Equities & Product Value Management Squad where you will be working with the Product Owner to deliver on our Squad and Crew strategies. Our squad is a fast-paced team looking to continually deliver best-in-class product offerings to our customers. You will be an integral part of the squad looking at broader strategy, developing and implementing new product, services or features, and engaging key stakeholders through this process.

You’ll be an innovative thinker and a self-starter and use your product management experience to help us maintain our position as the leading investment lender in the market. You will be responsible for managing our Australian Share Trading product and leading initiatives, leveraging stakeholder relationships across various squads to support you with implementing our product roadmap. Our focus on digital capability ensures we are investing in our growth and delivering a seamless customer experience, which you will play a key role in shaping our product strategy, and driving business growth by enhancing the product to put customers in control of their investment decision. You will also be responsible for creating processes to ensure sound change management while acting as an SME on initiatives and changes rolled out.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Product Management: Monitor the marketplace, with attention to direct competitors, to assess industry trends and results in order to recommend new products or features.
  • Cross functional collaboration: partner effectively with cross functional teams, including technology, finance, marketing, compliance, and distribution to ensure seamless product feature delivery.
  • Risk management: take ownership of managing regular controls, robust product governance, identification of issues, timely escalations and swift resolution of issues with a focus on leveraging/ identifying opportunities for automation.
  • Customer experience: drive continuous improvement in the customer experience by performing in depth reviews of complaints and breakpoints, refining product features and benefits, and optimising the digital experience.
  • Innovation & Problem Solving: Showcase a strong human centred design mindset to address customer needs, by ensuring that product solutions are resonating, user-focused and aligned with customers’ expectations.
  • Process improvement: evaluate and address process inefficiencies and breakpoints, creating and implementing solutions that streamline processes and enhance efficient operations and improve NPS.
  • Compliance: Ensure our products meet all applicable regulatory requirements, supporting regulatory requests.
  • Product Governance: Support all product governance responsibilities to deliver customer-centric products while managing risk for both customers and CBA. Collaborate with key stakeholders in preparing for Product Governance Forums.
  • Market research and innovation: Identify and assess industry trends, customer needs, competitive offerings and emerging technologies. Propose innovative product ideas to enhance market share to continue positioning the product as a market leader.
  • Data driven decision making: use product performance metrics to inform strategic decisions and adapt the product roadmap as necessary.
  • Culture: Play a leading role across the broader Product & Investing Solutions Crew and Product Management Chapter, fostering collaborative culture and ensuring all CBA values are always demonstrated.

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • Ability to lead initiatives and successfully execute a roadmap.
  • Strategic mindset coupled with proven problem-solving skills with a strong ability to think differently about strategies to grow the portfolio
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, capable of articulating complex ideas clearly and effectively to audiences, including cross-functional teams
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills to build relationships within and outside of the domain
  • Experience in customer experience with a proven track record of understanding and enhancing the customer journey
  • Experience with effective planning and the ability to contribute to tactical and strategic planning in support of a business plan. Experience in delivering strong outcomes in an Agile environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in customer research and data informed decision making
  • Comfortable with navigating ambiguity and ability to work flexibly through change.
  • Commercial acumen with knowledge of the industry, customers, regulatory and competitive landscape, particularly within the stockbroking sector (highly regarded) or​ in financial services with an interest in shaping investing experiences
  • Tertiary qualification in a Business / Commerce Degree Preferred. RG146 accreditation will be highly regarded.
