We are currently seeking an experienced Product Owner to become part of the Mortgages Originations team. Our ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of ING's deliveries playbook, demonstrate a track record of delivering significant projects, and ideally have familiarity with Equifax.

In this role, you’ll lead the delivery of essential projects and initiatives within the Mortgages tribe. Collaborating with a dedicated squad, vendors, and internal stakeholders, you will ensure the timely and high quality execution of business requirements. As Product Owner, you’ll determine the squad's focus (in alignment with the Origination Leadership Team), establish key priorities, and uphold the squad's KPIs.

Join us in shaping the future of Mortgages at ING Australia!

What you’ll do

  • Customer Focus: Represent the customer's voice to improve experiences and deliver positive outcomes.
  • Project Management: Lead initiatives, manage backlogs, and ensure timely delivery with minimal defects.
  • Process Improvement: Optimise processes, digitise, and fix systems to enhance efficiency, reduce risk, and improve decision-making timelines.
  • Product & Service Ownership: Define, develop, and manage products within regulatory frameworks while maintaining customer satisfaction and profitability.
  • Strategy Development: Design and implement product strategies considering market trends, regulatory requirements, and ING’s objectives.
  • Stakeholder Management: Align with stakeholders, manage dependencies, and ensure transparent communication of priorities and progress.
  • Agile Delivery: Collaborate within Agile squads, participate in sprints, and promote ING’s One Way of Working (OWoW) methodology.
  • Risk Management: Address product risks, resolve issues, and implement controls to mitigate impacts.
  • Performance & KPIs: Monitor and deliver on squad KPIs, business targets, and product outcomes, ensuring alignment with tribe goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Propose and implement enhancements to processes, products, and services for measurable benefits.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in digital channels, process optimisation, and project delivery.
  • Background in product management and Agile methodologies.
  • Balance customer needs, business goals, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience leading squads, prioritisation of backlogs, ensuring quality delivery.

  • Analytical, data-driven decision-making.
  • Customer-focused, hands-on approach.

About Us

At ING, we want to make life simpler and more worthwhile – for everyone who banks with us, for the people who work with us, and the community at large, too.

When you come to work at ING, you’re joining a team where individuality isn’t just accepted, it’s encouraged. We’ve built a culture that’s fun, friendly and supportive – it’s the kind of place where you can be yourself and make the most of whatever you have to offer.

We give people the freedom to think differently, take ownership of their work, and make great things happen. We’re here to help you get ahead. And with our global network, there’s plenty of scope to take your career in new directions, perhaps even ones you’ve never considered.

We are all about celebrating success and as a result we are proud to be a WGEA Employer of Choice for Gender Equality and a certified Family Inclusive workplace.

Sound like the kind of place you’d feel at home? We’d love to hear from you.

(One last thing, ING operates a direct talent sourcing model. So no agency introductions, please.)

From opera to comedy shows, the Sydney Opera House hosts more than 1,600 performances a year, yet its entertainment sector isn't the only one taking center stage. The city's tech sector has earned a reputation as one of the fastest-growing in the region. More specifically, its IT sector stands out as the country's third-largest, growing at twice the rate of overall employment in the past decade as businesses continue to digitize their operations to stay competitive.
