About the team:
This is an exciting and highly visible role which will provide end-end business delivery capability for products, projects and initiatives supporting the Clearing Risk division. The “Clearing Risk Program” is a strategic multi-year initiative building out ASX’s proprietary risk capabilities. This role will lead the execution of the derivatives (ETD/OTC) streams within the program therefore SME IP is expected in this area.
You will focus on end-end delivery with key focus on business outcomes. This includes discovery and execution therefore will require a blend of business analysis and project management skills alongside a highly commercial mindset.
You will be asked to operate autonomously in a matrixed environment with ambiguity therefore a blend of technical, excellent communication and soft skills will be required to be successful in the role.
What you will be doing:
The successful candidate will join a small but highly experienced and motivated team working on a number of projects including migrating and enhancing existing models, designing and implementing an in-house next generation risk management platform. This role will involve significant interaction with business users, quantitative analysts, data scientists, as well as broader technology SMEs. Therefore, the successful candidate must be technically proficient, organized, adaptable, and a highly organised & effective communicator. Some specific job requirements include:
Lead the Exchange Traded Derivatives stream within a multi-year exchange wide transformation program.
Formulate the priorities, scope, scheduling, and success criteria and high-level requirements.
Identify the critical path and guide execution to meet the desired outcome.
Work with stakeholders to identify the scope, milestones and ‘right size’ progress measures and path to success.
Use your IP to lead workshops related to Initial Margin, Variation Margin, Pricing, Market Data, Financial Markets Infrastructure reporting, Position and Trade feeds, to disseminate clear and concise requirements.
Run agile ceremonies and own prioritisation of backlogs aligned to the scope of the project.
Responsible for initiation, planning, delivery and adept at identifying options when presented with issues.
Excellent commercial acumen, communication and collaboration skills a must have.
Communicate project progress and status to stakeholders at the Executive level.
Identify and plan resource requirements to meet business objectives.
What you will bring:
Must have
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7yrs+ financial services or capital markets experience, particularly in clearing risk, settlement or registry functions highly desirable.
Prior experience driving risk projects as an SME or Delivery lead. Must be comfortable with JIRA, Confluence and similar tools.
Technical financial risk IP, having worked on clearing or financial risk, data integration, or other related areas.
Strong communication, facilitation and documentation skills. Is able to collaborate with stakeholders across all seniority levels.
Previous experience working on large programs encompassing multiple initiatives / projects.
Enjoys working in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous and continuously changing environment.
Work both independently and as part of a team and ability to look at big picture and at the same time, dive into the details.
Effective problem-solving skills, welcomes change and is adaptable within a very dynamic and at times ambiguous environment.
Inquisitive, team player, and being a self-starter.
Working in an agile team that is adaptable to change in direction and focus.
Ability to multi-task and step in to assist anyone in the team as required.
Thrives in challenging environments, leans into difficult situations / scenarios and is focussed on outcomes.

Nice to have:
Tertiary qualifications in Finance or other STEM related area.
Experience within a Scrum function, including tools like Atlassian (JIRA, Agile, Confluence).
Experience in documentation including tools such as MS Visio, Miro, MS Project or similar tools.
Worked on Agile, Lean and Waterfall projects.
Relevant industry certifications.
