AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION: YesRELOCATION ASSISTANCE: No relocation assistance availableCLEARANCE TYPE: AU-Protected (Baseline)TRAVEL: Yes, 10% of the TimeDescription

We are Northrop Grumman Australia (NGA). Our 800 strong team is leveraging unparalleled global resources to deliver sovereign Defence capability aligned to the Government’s priorities across Aeronautics, Mission Critical Systems, Space and Guided Weapons. As we build our business and our capabilities, we are also developing a reputation as a great place to work. Help us define what is possible for our nation and for your career.

Northrop Grumman Australia is growing its pricing capability to support a strong pipeline of new business. This role sits at the centre of that, working with our Future Business (capture) and operational teams to build the financial models that shape how we bid and win work.

This is not a reporting role. You’ll be building pricing models from the ground up, pulling inputs from across the business, challenging assumptions, and turning it into something clear, structured and defensible. It’s hands-on, highly collaborative, and gives you exposure across a wide range of programs across our whole business, rather than being tied to one.

This role can be based in either Brisbane or Canberra. Australian citizenship and a Baseline clearance (or ability to obtain) are required.

Key Responsibilities

You’ll work across active bids and emerging opportunities, building the financial backbone behind them. This includes:

  • developing pricing and cost models for new business opportunities, pulling together inputs from engineering, program and SME stakeholders
  • working directly with capture teams to support business case development and bid submissions
  • seeking clarification on assumptions and unpacking cost drivers to improve accuracy and reduce risk
  • helping bring structure and consistency into how pricing is done, including tools and repeatable processes
  • partnering across the business to translate how work is actually delivered into practical financial models

The role offers variety, exposure and real influence, your work feeds directly into decision-making and growth.

About You

You enjoy working with data, but more importantly, you like understanding what sits behind it.

You might be a Pricing Analyst, Cost Estimator or Commercial/Project Analyst who has moved beyond reporting and into modelling. You’re confident in Excel and comfortable building models yourself, not just maintaining them. You’ve likely supported bids or large programs before, ideally in defence, mining, engineering or another complex environment.

What will set you apart is how you think. You don’t just accept inputs, you unpack them. For example, if someone submits to you 500 hours, you want understand how that time is has been allocated. You’re comfortable taking incomplete information and building something structured from it.

You’ll need to be comfortable working across a lot of stakeholders, asking questions, and clarifying when needed. It’s a collaborative environment, but you need curiosity and confidence to get to the right answer.

This role suits someone who wants to move closer to the commercial decisions in a business, where the models you build actually shape outcomes.

What we Offer

We have built our benefits to help you define your possible.

  • Professional Development – further education, leadership development, professional industry memberships and unlimited access to a range of online training
  • Purchased annual leave – 2 weeks
  • Salary packaging including novated car leases
  • Generous paid parental leave – 18 Weeks
  • Volunteer and enhanced Reservist Leave
  • Health & Wellbeing program
  • Employee Assistance Program
