A Snapshot 

As the Program Manager - Construction, you will lead the integrated programme of multiple projects across the SYD3 campus. Reporting to the Project Director, you will work closely with Development, Design,  and Commissioning teams as well as the General Contractor to ensure the campus programme is managed accurately and all customer programme requirements are satisfied under the relevant agreements to AirTrunk's world-class quality standards. 

You will provide strategic support to Project Managers and Site Design Managers while coordinating General Contractors, consultants, utilities and Owner Supplied Equipment (OSE) vendors programmes to achieve campus-wide delivery objectives. 

Your Impact 

  • Provide expert advice to the Project team in strategy and decision making for the Syd3 campus 
  • Successfully manage all upstream customer programmes ensuring programme accuracy with works on site, General Contractor programmes , OSE vendor programmes and utility programmes  
  • Identify programme risks and opportunities across the campus 
  • Effectively evaluate Contractor programmes through project life cycle 
  • Provide delay and EOT analysis both downstream with Contractors and upstream with customers   
  • Establish programme governance and ensure consistent execution across all workstreams. 

Key Responsibilities 

Programme Leadership 

  • Lead all programming works for the campus 
  • Manage all upstream customer programmes ensuring accuracy and alignment with site works and contractor programmes 
  • Ensure consistency in project delivery methodologies, reporting and governance. 
  • Evaluate all contractor monthly status programmes and tender programmes to ensure accuracy and completeness  
  • Extrapolate all key deliverables from various customer, contractor and utility programmes and consolidate into campus programme to ensure alignment for all customer deliverables, Air Trunk supplied items and contractor deliverables  
  • Develop programme execution strategies aligned with AirTrunk objectives. 

Project Support 

  • Provide planning advice to the SYD3 Project Management team including critical path analysis, scenario analysis and schedule risk analysis 
  • Support project managers and commercial team with Notice of Delays and Extension of Time claims both upstream and downstream 
  • Provide programme data for all campus reporting 
  • Maintain a campus programme risk and opportunity register tracking all campus programme risks and associated mitigations strategies 
  • Integrate various programmes across the campus into one single consolidated campus programme for Syd3  
  • Provide support to the Air Trunk commissioning team to develop commissioning programmes for each customer 
  • Identify emerging issues and coordinate programme-wide mitigation strategies. 

Programme Controls 

  • Establish robust programme governance and reporting frameworks. 
  • Review integrated master schedules and identify programme constraints. 
  • Ensure programme risks are actively managed and mitigated. 
  • Monitor contractor performance and implement recovery plans where required. 
  • Drive continuous improvement across project controls, reporting and delivery processes. 

Requirements 

Essential 

  • 10+ years' experience delivering major infrastructure, mission-critical or data centre projects. 
  • Extensive experience managing complex programmes comprising multiple concurrent projects. 
  • Excellent knowledge and skillset working with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project. 
  • Strong understanding of construction methodology and development of campus programmes from first principals. 
  • Experience working for a developer, General Contractor or hyperscale data centre organisation. 
  • Sound understanding of construction contracts, specifically delay entitlements and procedures.  
  • Strong analytical skills.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to present programmes to internal teams and clients. 
  • Strong understanding of programme controls and governance. 

Preferred 

  • Experience delivering hyperscale data centre campuses. 
  • Experience leading programmes exceeding AU$1 billion. 
  • Experience managing Owner Supplied Equipment (OSE). 
  • Knowledge of commissioning and operational readiness. 
  • Experience across APAC developments. 
  • Chartered Engineer, PMP or equivalent project management qualification.
