Job Description

  • Outstanding opportunity for an experienced Program Manager to join a significant Transformation Program on a 12‑month fixed-term contract, covering a period of parental leave.

  • With the program already well underway, you will step into a pivotal role responsible for maintaining momentum, driving delivery outcomes, and ensuring the continued execution of an established Technology transformation roadmap.

  • Work across organisational design, change management, technology and property – ensuring that a cohesive plan delivers on the required outcomes

  • Based in the Adelaide CBD or Mascot, you will partner with key stakeholders across South Australia and Sydney, providing leadership, structure and clarity across a complex portfolio of work

Qantas has established a new Product Innovation Centre in Adelaide, a hub that will transform how we design, build and deliver digital experiences for millions of customers. At its core is a shift to a product-led operating model: moving away from traditional project-based IT delivery toward empowered, cross-functional product teams that own outcomes end-to-end.

As Program Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the Innovation Centre delivers on the required outcomes across a broad range of workstreams. You will set the standard for project delivery by establishing and maintaining consistent delivery frameworks, governance practices, reporting standards and delivery controls.

You own the plan and the sequence, hold the stream leads to it, and resolve conflicting dependencies. You manage the risks, dependencies and budget; ensuring that there is one cohesive outcome. The stream leads deliver their own outcomes, you're responsible for those outcomes delivering towards the strategy.

This role offers a unique opportunity to influence outcomes across all workstreams and shape a plan to deliver on an ambitious strategy

You’ll have:

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in program and project delivery, including at least 3 years in program management, practice management, or project management leadership.

  • Degree qualification in Business, Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • PRINCE2, MSP, Agile or equivalent delivery certifications are highly regarded.

  • Proven track record leading large-scale delivery teams and embedding program and project management disciplines across complex portfolios.

  • Extensive experience across multiple delivery methodologies including PRINCE2, MSP, Agile, Hybrid delivery models, and Lean Portfolio Management, with the ability to tailor approaches to suit organisational needs.

  • Demonstrated capability to scale delivery practices in large, matrixed organisations, including the implementation of standardised frameworks, templates, governance processes, and tooling.

  • Experience leading enterprise technology programs, with strong expertise in managing program structures, risks, dependencies, benefits realisation, and stakeholder outcomes.

  • Successful history of building high-performing delivery teams while uplifting capability, consistency, and delivery quality.

  • Strong portfolio oversight capabilities, including prioritisation, sequencing of initiatives, dependency management, and balancing delivery risk across multiple workstreams.

  • Experience with delivery assurance, resource planning, and enterprise portfolio management tools such as Clarity and Power BI would be advantageous.

  • Strategic thinker with exceptional planning, problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills.

  • Comfortable operating in environments characterised by ambiguity, evolving priorities, and delivery pressure.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with the confidence to present delivery insights, recommendations, and program health updates to senior executives and leadership teams.
