The Riverina Redevelopment Joint Venture (RRJV) is a 50/50 joint venture between CPB Contractors and Downer to undertake major upgrades and replacement of existing infrastructure and facilities to support Defence capability for the next 30 years. 

 

The proposed project consists of a program of works across three Department of Defence establishments including: 

 

  • Albury Wodonga Military Area (including North, South & East Bandiana, Latchford Barracks, Wirlinga) 
  • Blamey Barracks (Kapooka) 
  • RAAF Base Wagga 

 

The proposed capital investment of $2 billion will incorporate a variety of elements including: 

 

  • Construction of new messing and living in accommodation 
  • Construction of new training facilities 
  • Refurbishment and upgrading of existing buildings 
  • Remedial works and upgrades to infrastructure services

The opportunity 

 

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer – Services Infrastructure to support the delivery of complex Defence works at Blamey Barracks Kapooka. This role is responsible for managing the installation, coordination, quality and commissioning of critical services infrastructure packages, working closely with subcontractors, designers and project stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant and high-quality outcomes.

 

You will play a key role in delivering essential base services, contributing to a major Australian Defence infrastructure program.

 

What you’ll do

 

  • Manage the installation of services infrastructure including HV Electrical, potable water, fire water and sewer mains 

  • Coordinate subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely on program and to specification 

  • Resolve design and constructability issues in collaboration with designers and engineering teams 

  • Oversee quality control, inspections and compliance with RRJV, Defence and regulatory requirements 

  • Support commissioning, handover and close-out of services infrastructure packages

 

What you’ll bring 

 

  • Degree qualification in Services Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic or Building Services) or Civil Engineering 

  • Demonstrated experience delivering services infrastructure installations across complex construction projects 

  • Strong capability in subcontractor management, quality assurance and site coordination 

  • Proven ability to resolve technical and design issues in live construction environments 

  • Experience working on Defence, infrastructure or tier 1/2 construction projects (highly regarded)

 

This role is based at Wagga Wagga. Relocation assistance is available for the successful candidate if required. This is not a DIDO or FIFO role, applicants must be willing to relocate, be an Australian citizen and willing to obtain a security clearance.
