Project Engineer

The Opportunity

We are seeking an Asphalt Project Engineer to join our team and focus of the delivery of the North East Link Project, Victoria's largest transport infrastructure project.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of complex civil and asphalt construction works while working alongside some of the industry's most experienced professionals. You'll take ownership of project outcomes, drive performance across safety, quality, programme and cost.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Project Engineer, you'll be responsible for:

•    Managing the delivery of allocated projects from planning through to completion
•    Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to specification
•    Monitoring commercial performance, forecasting and cost control
•    Managing subcontractors, suppliers and project stakeholders
•    Driving project programmes and identifying opportunities to improve performance
•    Leading risk management and ensuring timely resolution of project issues
•    Preparing and reviewing project reports, claims and contractual documentation
•    Supporting tender development and estimating activities
•    Building and maintaining strong client relationships
•    Championing Downer's Zero Harm culture and safety leadership expectations

What You'll Bring

•    A degree qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
•    Proven experience delivering civil construction, asphalt, surfacing or infrastructure projects
•    Strong commercial acumen with experience managing project budgets, forecasts and cost control
•    Sound understanding of contract administration and project delivery methodologies
•    Demonstrated ability to lead project outcomes in a collaborative environment
•    Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
•    A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
•    A commitment to safety leadership and fostering a Zero Harm culture
