The Opportunity

Cochlear has an opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to join our team on an 18 month fixed term contract based in our Macquarie and Lane Cove, offices. In this role, the successful Project Engineer will work within the Manufacturing Network Optimisation team to coordinate and deliver technical projects to expand the capacity of Cochlear's manufacturing sites.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering manufacturing projects that help improve Cochlear's manufacturing capabilities.
  • Coordinating projects to expand manufacturing capacity at Cochlear's sites in both Macquarie and Lane Cove. This could include construction and fit out of new manufacturing areas (Cleanrooms and non-Cleanrooms) and the procurement and installation of capital equipment.
  • Facilitating close collaboration between the project manager, technical teams and external contractors.
  • Developing work plans, schedules, budgets, and validation plans.
  • Monitoring project progress and ensuring delivery of targets. Communicating project updates and escalations to a wider range of stakeholders.
  • Promoting safety and quality standards in all project activities.

Essential:

  • Successful record of delivering technical engineering projects within a highly-regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills.
  • Ability to develop technical documentation and reports.
  • Effective communication skills across diverse teams.
  • Proven ability to deliver projects against targets.

Ideal:

  • Experience in manufacturing or medical devices.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
  • PMP certification
