Job Description

As our Data Centre Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of data centre development projects from their initiation to successful completion. You will work with the Principal Contractor and design and engineering consultants to plan, direct, and manage the data centre construction ensuring adherence to design specifications, cost plan, programme, quality standards, with a paramount focus on safety. 

In this role you will work with all project stakeholders during planning, construction, commissioning and handover. You will enable them to reliably deliver NEXTDC data centre projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers and specialty consultants
  • Ability to delegate responsibilities, foster a collaborative and productive work environment, and maintain the respect and engagement of the workforce
  • Capability to manage complex data centre designs and in-depth understanding of technical principals, construction methods, materials, best practices, building codes, regulations, and safety standards
  • Proficiency in reading and accurately interpreting technical documents, specifications, and schematics
  • Knowledge of data centre design principles, including power, cooling, space, IT infrastructure, and resilience
  • Proficiency in project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Aconex, Procore, MS Project, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Revit) and general office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) 
  • Ability to anticipate potential issues (e.g., design improvements, changing customer needs, unforeseen subsurface conditions), implement proactive measures, and resolve problems when they do occur
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and sub-projects concurrently

 

Your proven commercial experience will see you bringing:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Data Centre or mission critical design management
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or construction industry related qualification
  • Experience working for Principal Contractors or client-side project management will be highly regarded
