The opportunity

 

We are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager leading the end-to-end delivery of projects within the Telco and Network Services - New Energy Business, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to customer expectations.

 

You will construct renewable energy infrastructure for transport authorities and beyond including bus depot electrical-conversion projects, solar powered battery energy storage systems along with large scale solar array installation and help support the continued growth of the Downer New Energy Business unit. 

 

This role will be based out of Milton, Brisbane however regular travel and site visits will be required across the South East Queensland region.  

 

What you’ll do

  • Leading project planning, delivery, reporting, risk management, cost optimisation, subcontractor management, and project close-out activities.

  • Developing, managing, and mentoring a high-performing project management team to achieve successful project outcomes.

  • Driving a strong Zero Harm safety culture across all project activities.

  • Providing leadership, coaching, and performance management to team members, while identifying and developing key talent within the region.

  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships to support successful project delivery and contribute to the growth of the New Energy Business.

  • Ensuring all activities are undertaken in accordance with Downer's Code of Conduct, project management frameworks, and governance requirement

What we’re looking for

  • Tertiary Qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Electrical or Business Management desirable or qualified Electrician 

  • Project Management Qualification 

  • Experience with Solar infrastructure construction, BESS technology and feeding back into the grid.

  • Able to deliver projects whilst facilities remain operational

  • Experience in preparation of contract financial summaries, commercial reporting and monthly reports.

  • Extensive experience in managing and developing a high performing team
