About the business/role/team
This is a unique opportunity for you to join the Reserve Bank’s Payments Operations Program, which is leading the Bank's work to strengthen its operation of RITS, Australia's real-time gross settlement system, and other critical national payments infrastructure. These payments systems move around $300 billion dollars between financial institutions each day and ultimately settle all non-cash payments in Australia. They are essential for supporting the day-to-day business of the Australian economy.

You will be part of the Business team in the Payments Operations Program, working closely with the Project Director (Business) and the Senior Business SME to deliver the implementation of the Knowledge Management and Training workstream for IT and Payments Settlements staff supporting RITS.

The Payments Operations Program is a large, business led program which is working to: uplift the operating model and resourcing for the RITS ecosystem; strengthen shared services processes and IT controls that support RITS and related systems; and improve knowledge management processes and systems and related training programs for staff supporting RITS.
About the role

  • Project manager for the RITS Knowledge Management and Training workstream.

  • This workstream covers the uplift of key knowledge artefacts for PS and IT, implementation of enhancements to knowledge systems (ServiceNow and TRIM) and uplift of training programs for Payments Settlements and IT staff.

  • Work closely with the Project Director (Business) and the Senior Business SME to deliver the Knowledge Management and Training workstream

  • This will involve a range of project co-ordination and management tasks including: maintaining the project schedule, ensuring that the POP team and other Bank staff complete their allocated tasks on schedule, tracking the workstream budget, managing and directing external professional services staff, contributing to business and change management artefacts, and representing the workstream in internal RBA meetings and forums.

  • The role will work closely with the broader POP team, an external professional services firm and relevant staff in Payments Settlements, IT, RM, EPMO, Procurement and Knowledge departments.

  • Reporting to the Project Director (Business), you will also enjoy working and collaborating with multiple high performing teams committed to team goals and deliverables

About you

  • Strong expertise and experience in project lead / project manager roles

  • Outcomes driven, with a strong delivery focus and experience in working in a matrix organisation structure

  • Stakeholder engagement and communication across executive, delivery and support teams

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams including IT, operations, risk and compliance

  • Strong communication and writing skills with proven stakeholder management experience

  • Experience at prioritising and working in a deadline-oriented environment

  • Strong team player to work with multiple collaborative teams is essential

  • Familiarity of banking or payment systems is desirable
