Job Description

AECOM’s Sydney Highways team is delivering some of the most significant transport infrastructure projects across NSW and ANZ. With a strong and growing pipeline of motorway, road and highway projects, we’re looking to connect with experienced Project Managers and Design Managers operating at Technical Director level who thrive in complex infrastructure environments and enjoy leading multidisciplinary teams through all phases of project delivery.

How you’ll make a difference 

  • Lead and manage major highways and transport infrastructure projects from planning and tender phases through to delivery and project completion
  • Drive design management and project delivery across complex road, motorway and civil infrastructure projects
  • Provide strategic leadership across multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring technical excellence and strong delivery outcomes
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients while building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships across the industry
  • Oversee project performance across programme, commercial, risk, safety and quality outcomes
  • Lead project governance, delivery strategy and coordination across internal and external teams
  • Support business development, work winning and strategic growth opportunities across the Sydney Highways business
  • Mentor and develop emerging leaders and technical professionals across the team

Qualifications

  • 15+ years’ experience across highways, roads or major transport infrastructure projects
  • Proven experience operating at Project Manager, Design Manager or Technical Director level within complex infrastructure environments
  • Strong understanding of highways design, D&C delivery models and multidisciplinary coordination
  • Experience delivering projects for major transport authorities and infrastructure clients across Australia
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing programme, financial and delivery performance
  • Excellent stakeholder management and leadership capability with the ability to influence at senior levels
  • A collaborative mindset with a passion for developing teams and delivering impactful infrastructure solutions

Our Sydney Highways team is continuing to grow, with a strong pipeline of major transport infrastructure work already underway and plenty more to come. You’ll have the opportunity to work alongside industry-leading technical specialists, collaborate across ANZ and global teams, and help shape projects that leave a lasting impact on communities across the region.
