Job Description

Job Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager for a 12-month fixed-term contract to lead the successful delivery of complex engineering and technology projects within a dynamic, customer-focused environment. This is a hands-on role responsible for driving execution, ensuring strong governance, managing stakeholder expectations, and delivering projects on time and within budget. You will play a key role in coordinating cross-functional teams, managing project risks, and ensuring projects are delivered in line with business, customer, and contractual requirements.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead end-to-end project delivery across planning, execution, monitoring, governance, and close-out activities.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, dependencies, and change control to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Commercial, Manufacturing, Service, and Delivery functions.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, WBS, RACI matrices, risk registers, and project reporting packs.
  • Track project performance against approved baselines, perform variance analysis, and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Ensure compliance with Product Lifecycle Process (PLP), project governance requirements, and stage-gate reviews.
  • Act as the primary interface for customers and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and expectation management.
  • Support bid and tender activities through project planning, risk assessment, compliance reviews, and commercial input.
  • Manage external stakeholders and contractual commitments to ensure successful project execution.
  • Lead project handovers to operations, manufacturing, service, or support teams to achieve smooth transition and business readiness.
  • Drive continuous improvement, governance excellence, and disciplined project delivery practices.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager or Program Manager within engineering, technology, manufacturing, defence, infrastructure, or complex technical environments.
  • Strong expertise in project controls including planning, scheduling, forecasting, cost management, risk management, and change control.
  • Experience working within cross-functional and matrix organisations.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and drive outcomes across multiple teams.
  • Hands-on experience with project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, SAP, or equivalent platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, PRINCE2, or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Degree in Engineering, Technology, Business, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent Project Management certification.
  • Experience delivering customer-facing projects and managing contractual obligations.
  • Experience supporting bids, tenders, and commercial project reviews.
  • Exposure to product development, engineering delivery, manufacturing, or operational project environments.
  • Experience operating within global organisations and governance-driven project frameworks.
