About the business/role/team
FSS Next Program is a transformative 3–5-year program enhancing the Fast Settlement Service (FSS), a piece of critical payments infrastructure owned and operated by the RBA. The FSS settles payments exchanged through the New Payments Platform (NPP) on a real-time, 24/7 basis – averaging 3.5 million payments per day, worth $4 billion. Your leadership will ensure it remains resilient, scalable, and aligned with global standards through:
Replacing of end-of-life technology components and uplifting the transaction processing capacity of some associated systems to support growth in NPP payment volumes.
Changing the FSS and associated systems to support updated NPP message formats that align with the international messaging standard ISO 20022.
Expertly evaluating options and developing a business case to deliver a new technology solution for managing large-scale transactional datasets. Depending on the outcome of the business case, you will also oversee its implementation.
